As the poster said last week, Comcast did add them on Tuesday the 25th, not a bad channel, its neat to see Hazel, Dennis the Menace, Father Knows best and some old movies, but many channels air, Sanford and Son, the Nanny, Good Times and Jeanie, get some different shows for petes sake LOL....unless they are owned by TV Land...:) What about Combat, Odd Couple, WKRP, they can leave the westerns to The Western Channel, another great one.

They don't have Jeannie, but the other shows (Good Times, Sanford & Son, The Nanny) are on a number of channels, and aired too much.

The annoying thing about Antenna is the bizarre informercial condensed commercials. Needing a Tivo to get throuh Antenna is same as needing a TiVo to get through TV Land, so the only benefit is Antenna is it is available to people who don't pay for cable.

WFMZ's RTV has Kate & Allie on the weekends. Some other shows on are on the Fios channels, like The Hub. 227 and Amen are on Gospel Music Channel. If RTV and GMC can acquire programming, Tribune should be able to as well, but it seems to only have selected some shows from Sony Pictures, and atleast 3 hours are duplicative to TV Land.

The 1st season of WKRP, and first 3 of Mary Tyler Moore are available on Hulu Plus.

I have been checking antenna out alot more, they also carry the Monkees, Flying Nun, Gidget, Benny Hill and many others on the weekend. I agree the commercials are insane :(....I would love to see Comcast add RTV, on 69-2, they carry all of Channel 39's sides why not Channel 69-2.

Antenna TV also has All in the Family. Haven't seen those in years. Rob Reiner with hair and about 150 less pounds. Same with Sally Struthers, a young very thin woman of the 60's, today a bit heavier and much aged senior. Funny seeing the Flying Nun with the young Sally Fields and then watching the older Sally Fields hawking medicine for seniors. Same with Henry Winkler, one minute the Fonz, and the next a gray hair guy selling a senior product. As a Boomer, it's not that much fun seeing other's from your generation selling products for seniors. The worse part is realizing I, like them, have moved up the ladder and are approaching the world of the senior citizen. Time and Tide wait for no man or woman.

Think how different nursing homes will be when us Baby Boomers finally end up there as geezers. Gone will be Lawrence Welk and Glenn Miller and in will be Elvis, Everly Brothers, Peter Paul and Mary, Beatles, Beach Boys, Blood Sweat and Tears, Chicago, Santana, Linda Ronstadt, Carly Simon, Led Zeppelin, Steppenwolf, etc. etc.

I think there is a hole for these type of shows, maybe nostalgia programs are popular again for people as old as me lol, they seem to be popping up all over and networks geared only to them. I hope this would spike a need in Standard radio formats once again. I always enjoyed WJBR-A, in fact they had an audiance in Philly even when PEN was around playing the same type music. On another note, you have to be the expert on this...when I am in Delaware, especially on Naamans road, at some intersections there is a signal with a red arrow in the left turn lane, then it flashes, what the heck does that mean. I dont know what to do when I see it, it is usually in the left turning lane....help!!!

There should be a sign there telling you that you can then proceed across the intersection to make your left turn, if it is safe, sort of like a stop sign.

Of course you've probably encountered our wonderful camera traffic lights too - I believe there's one at Rt 202 (Concord Pike) and Naamans Road. It's a $112.00 fine if the camera catches your license plate and the light turns red while you're crossing the intersection. I'm not sure how that works for out of state plates though. The trick to those camera lights is doing the speed limit so that you can actually get stopped if the thing changes to yellow before you enter the intersection. Most folks are speeding and they usually can't get stopped in time, and trigger the camera and then they get in the mail a ticket.

I agree, I used to really enjoy AM1290 WJBR.

Do you know if Antenna or any other station still runs that ad for SMC Home Profit with the late Tom Bosley as their "spokesperson"? America One still does, even after his death.

Thanks for all the info....I know that intersection 202 and Naamans with the camera and the warning...a few blocks from the mall....but these lights are on Naamans near the Acme. No signs just the light with the red arrow that blinks, the two lights under the top one are never on, so I don't know what color they are LOL... I don't know whether to go when it blinks stop or what....We don't have this in Philly or PA or NJ so I am not familiar with it...JBR-A was a great station on the bird with great jocks and fantastic music, I know they did well in their market, so why the flip...I have to tell you I hate sports formats whether on FM or AM. They had a great signal in Philly both day and night which amazed me so much, I had to check out their tower years back, which is right off 495, it has that little antenna that looks like an old UHF jag type of years ago half way up. When 1290 was TUX way back when I never remember them on at night and getting into Philly they way they do now....speaking of TUX what was their format did they simulcast JBR-F, I remember them playing oldies during saturday in the 70's.

Prior to being owned by the folks that own WJBR-FM who changed AM 1290's calls to WJBR-AM, WTUX was a beautiful music station, a day timer. Their studio was on King Street by Brandywine Park, about a block or two before crossing the Brandywine. Jim Hicks, who does post here, actually worked there for a time, so if he sees this, maybe he'll chime in with a more accurate history of WTUX, 1290 on everyone's radio dial.
