I love this channel!!!!

The best thing is: THEY STILL HAVE THIER ANALOGUE CHANNEL ON THE AIR in my area!! (Too bad the programming is all digital)

I really like the fact they show everything IN FULL SCREEN!! (I hate this letterbox stuff)

What market are you in? I get Antenna TV via WTIC-TV channel 61-2 of Hartford (61-1 is FOX). Everything on that channel is in SD 4:3, black bars on the sides.

When any cstandard aspect ratio is seen on a widescreen monitor without side bars, the channel has blown up the image and lopped off the top and bottom of the picture. The only way to see old shows in "full screen" is with bars.

And you only see "letterbox" bars when you view widescreen programs on a standard screen.

Antenna TV and the other oldies sub-channels have side bars when viewed on widescreen monitor. If you are not seeing side bars, probably you are watching on a standard screen.

And nobody has their "analog channel" on the air. The government shut down analog TV more than four years ago.

Yup thankfully Im watching on a CRT (Always been the best )

I am quite surprised they dont show it in letterbox!! (Almost everything is now and its sad)

I like my movies,etc IN FULL SCREEN!! (No bars,nothing)


Im sorry KML-224 you have to deal with those pesky bars....


Do you have a CRT you could use to watch instead??

LPTVs (some) are on until 2015.

@ The Dude: The pilar bars on the left and right don't bother me. I'd rather have that, since most shows running on Antenna TV were shot for a 4:3 ratio anyways. So-called "Stretch-O-Vision" is horrible and I won't stand for it. I keep my TV's picture shape setting on "AUTO". That way, when I switch to an over-the-air station on an indoor antenna, I'll see it adjust for the 16:9 HD signal automatically. As for a CRT "tube" TV, I no longer own one. Haven't had one for about 7 years now.

Unfortunately, Direct TV does not allow the extra local digital channels to be aired. I miss Antenna and METV here in ATL when we switched to Direct. I know that I can buy digital rabbit ears and get the local channels, but I live too far north of ATL to get a good signal.

There's no such thing as digital rabbit ears. Although today's digital television is only using VHF channels 2-13 and UHF channels 14-51, it's important to note that those channels are on the SAME frequencies that analog channels 2-13 and 14-51 were on until 2009. The simple Radio Shack indoor antenna I have sitting atop a 24" Toshiba LED HDTV (don't ask how!) in my second floor bedroom was made before 2009. I'm getting the so-called "Big 4" stations, CW and PBS with solid signals, while ION and MY are less, but watchable so far.

If I'm reading correctly, Antenna TV in Atlanta is by way of WATL-TV channel 36-3.

If you're in Atlanta you can get Aereo and for $8 per month you get your local channels and subchannels. It's a great supplement to pick up the subchannels that either don't come in well or aren't on cable. I did to pick up RTV - it's not on cable here and it doesn't come in well over-the-air where I live southwest of Boston.
