Anti-Governor Patrick Racism By Graham and Howie Carr

A

The tabloid and soon to be out of business Boston Herald reported today that Governor Patrick's office signed a lease for a Cadillac Escalade SUV and turned back the 80 thousand plus Crown Victoria.

Seems that Michael "Crackers" Graham, Todd "Don't Call Me A Jew" Feinburg, and Howie " I am stuck in local radio forever and no one wants me on TV" Carr have pulled out all the old racial stereotypes of the 50's and 60's regarding Blacks and Cadillacs.

One wonders if our current Governor had the Hibernian name of Danny Boy O'Patrick whether this would have ever made print let alone trash talk radio.

Sad, but racism will raise its ugly head and spit out its vomit whenever one of these racist talk bigots such as Graham, Feinburg or Carr have a mic in front of them.

Hi Casablanca! Good thing Patrick is black, otherwise you couldn't have brought up "The Race Card".
(Maybe it was the "welfare cadillac" song a listener had suggested..hey, it was songs about Cadillacs.
This morning, Todd F was heard to say he admired Patrick for lifting himself up by his bootstraps out of
poverty, but he didn't like his liberal politics. Obviously, this makes him a racist.

How about Cadillac Frank Salemme? The mention of his name on HC's show was obviously anti-Italian. My dear
sainted mother, who passed on in 1974, was Irish-American but was adopted by an Italian-American
couple, the Bongiornos...So, I'm offended. (And what was that joke Sen. Kerry once told about the
Italian navy...?)

Hey! Now he's playing Lightnin' Hopkins! Blues on AM radio! Go Howie! You racist you. :)

If this is true, the gov should switch parties because no true Democrat would drive a pollution-spewing, global warming inducing tank worthy of a "Dukakis For President" TV spot!

Oh for the days when Boston radio could, without anybody shouting "racist" play songs like: "A White Sport Coat and A Pink Carnation". Though even then some mistook the final words and were concerned that it had to do with the appearance of so many Pink Cadillacs around the city. Giving rise to the fear that America was becoming a "Pink Car Nation". I can recall a late-niter on a Boston station where a joke was cracked involving _________ (ethnicity deleted to avoid....) contractors and Cadillacs of certain colors. Nobody got fired. Nobody screamed. Life was simpler in those days....

BTW: If you can find it, try Caffrey's Cream Ale. Made by an offshoot of Guiness and only recently being exported. Light. Mellow. The ladies love it but it has much to offer macho males in subtle strength when the dark is weighing a little heavy.

You are correct. We did get off topic and the flames started.

Still, certain Boston talk show hosts like Michael Graham "Crackers" and Howie Carr and Todd "Don't call me a Jew" Feinburg have gone beyond conservative-liberal politics to use not so subtle racism to attack Governor Patrick.

At no time did the Herald refer to an Escalade. Only racist morons would lie to play the race card, eh? Deval has a DTS sedan. Not as inflammatory for a left wing cretin but unfortunately true. You should be able to disagree with the politics of the three men you mentioned without yourself committing the sins you accuse them of. I'm not sure of your ethnicity but your hypocrisy is clear as a bell.

The first reports on talk radio referred to it as an Escalade not a DTS or whatever sedan model it is.

Certainly Governor Patrick should have known or his advisers should have known that the talk show jackels are going for his throat just for being Governor of Massachusetts and for being a non right wing nut bag. As to being Black/African American it makes their dirt bag jobs that much easier because they can play on all the Black stereotypes which they do very well.

As to Michael Graham, he is a "Cracker" just so happens it is an appropriate appelation to his last name... so Michael Graham as in "Crackers". Todd Feinburg is adament not to be thought of as as Jew. Why? You will have to ask him why he brings it up on his program. Howie Carr is just running on empty. He is pulling out all the old infamatory issue and hot buttons to save his waning radio career.

Hope this was a good wake up call to Governor Patrick that form is more important than substance.

So you're fighting against racism and racial stereotypes by calling white people from the South "crackers?"

Maybe you could join Deval and fight global warming by driving a luxury car that gets 17 miles to the gallon.

I have never heard Feinburg say "Don't call me a Jew." He has said he is not Jewish when asked and he's talked on the radio about the fact that people make incorrect assumptions about who he is. There is a huge difference. And, I believe that you are making an issue out of something that simply isn't there. If anything, Feinburg panders to Christians - he thinks we should refuse to say Happy Holidays and wish everyone Merry Christmas, since that is what most people celebrate, and that people who don't celebrate Christmas should be happy about being wished Merry anything. Since you are a Christian, I'd say Feinburg is your man on this issue.

It's always ironic and kind of sad when a liberal makes a racist remark while attempting to paint someone else as a racist.

Oh, that's right, it's okay for them to make racist statements because they're "progressive." I'm still really waiting to hear what Carr, Feinberg or Graham said that was truly racist.

This is the crux of the matter, isn't it? What qualifies as "truly racist" vs. merely insulting.

NHRonin, have you ever heard anyone on the radio say anything you would consider to be racist in the last five years?

According to the Globe, the two options the state police gave him were the Cadillac DTS and a Chrysler 300C. The lease for the DTS is $1200 a month. The Chrysler costs 80% as much as the DTS, so assuming that the same cost relationship applies to the lease, the difference between the two cars is $240 a month or $2880 per year. There may have been other factors in the decision that made this the better car. I wish we knew what the lease was on Romney's car. This lease may be less. Do we even know? For the record, I hope someone keep track of Romney's annual transportation budget and compares it to Patrick's budget.

Infidel, how much do you think Romney's lease was? Are you concerned because you just became aware of how much governors' car leases cost? Or is it because you have higher expectations for Democrats than Republicans? With the fiasco we're witnessing at the federal level, I guess I could see how you might be counting on Dems to do better. ;)

P.S. I would have thought people would be upset that he didn't insist on a Toyota, since each Toyota has a higher percentage of parts manufactured in the US than the other brands.

Yes, there is nothing worse than quoting someone by his own words. Specifically, Todd Feinburg said with a very, very nasty and irritated tone in his voice " I am NOT Jewish." He emphazised the NOT...not I.

Only Feinburg can clarify his remarks. We only hear them.

Great. So, going back to your initial post in this thread, you wrote Todd "Don't Call Me A Jew" Feinburg. What he actually said was, I am NOT Jewish. Subtle difference, but difference nevertheless.

The D&C "Metco" statement was probably about the closest (and I didn't actually hear it). I thought it was a stupid comment but not really racist. I have thick skin though.

Ironically, around the same day, one of the local news stations had interviews with people who lived in the area where the gorilla had escaped and I clearly remember one sweet little old lady remarking on seeing the ape at the bus stop, "I thought it was just some big ugly guy in a snorkel."

What I meant was, who pays $1200 a month for a lease?

It's not their money, so what do they care?

I have a problem with the Governor or ANY public official getting a free car on our dime. I've worked in the public sector and the spending is far worse than what you read about in the newspapers.

Don't forget -- Mitt Romney and Kerry Healey didn't take a salary for their four years in office. That is very commendable. True, they didn't need the money, but as a gesture it sets a precedent. Any bets on whether or not Patrick and Murray are doing the same?

In this day and age of post-9/11, I have no issue with the Governor having a car and security. The days of the Governor taking the T are over.

The real issue is the cost and his continual use of the helicopter. It also demonstrates the hypocrisy of the left when their guy drives a pollution spewing Caddy and there is nary a peep out of them.
