Anti-Rush March At WMAL Draws 7 (Count 'Em, 7) Protesters

http://www.talkers.com/

The NOW-sponsored “Enough Rush” campaign got off to an ignominious start outside the studios of affiliate WMAL, Washington, DC Friday, May 18 as just seven protesters marched.

I suprised that 7 people in DC care about Rush either way. Are there 7 people listening to MAL at any point in the day? LOL!

Good point - I suppose WMAL would be lucky if that FM simulcast guaranteed them a minimum of six listeners at any given time... ::)

It also illustrates how out of touch NOW is these days.

Yeah, that's what I hear, too...... when I hang out with guys.

Then when I hang out with women..... I hear how out of touch GUYS, REPUBLICAN guys are.

It is interesting to look at who is heading up corporations these days. Last time looked it up, a woman was at the helm of Pepsico. HP seems to find female CEOs to be acceptable. There are others.

But there is something I haven't looked up. How many station-owning broadcast companies are there? I'm not thinking of the home town family owned companies that own one station. I'm thinking companies that are publicly traded and operate large successful groups. Any females at the top? At the desks that have the little sign that says "The Buck Stops Here".... are there any female execs who are making the decision that keeps Rush and Hannity and others on the schedule?

Things that make you go..... 'hmmmmmm......." ::)

Apparently not the day of the march. That's what it looks like when it not "organized".

That is like me, my wife, my kids (3) and their wives all showing up to "rally". What a joke!

That's still more than the number of people that have an HD radio.

I'm sure I could organize a protest against WMAL-AM broadcasting in HD and attract more than 7 protesters.

Actually, Washington might be an exception to the rule - there might be more folks that listen to WMAL on AM, let alone FM, than own an HD radio... ::)

Does the metro Washington, DC area have 7 people these days? I heard they were all moving closer to the small timer markets.

I am sitting here looking at your post... and I keep thinking there must be some humor and/or sarcasm in that post that I am not capable of understanding. ;D

Within the District itself there appears to be just over 600,000 people.

The Washington Metro Area Market is 5,300,000 which makes it the 8th largest market in the nation as marketers view the market.

How far out are all these people moving to find these "small timer markets". Atlanta has lousy commutes and commute times, but if you are going to find a "small timer market" and keep your ties with D.C. it could get interesting. I can't picture living in Staunton and driving into D.C. every day for work.

Wait - so the Washington market is made up mostly of "small timer" cities? If that's the case, I wonder if the same applies to Market No. 1... Westchester and Long Island might be "small timer" to Manhattan in this case, but the cost of living in the area is big money across the board.

DToTheJ, even a cursory reading of my post would indicate that people who can't make it in a top market typically tend to the small time markets where they can lie, steal and cheat their way through the door by using other people's resumes and demos, practice and memory of all the real market interviews that went badly for them.

Rush dont worry about these Obama Left wing radicals, He laughs at this stuff and only makes his ratings go higher.

Well, I wouldn't protest him or his program, but I don't know that he necessarily thinks things through, or that he is really all that analytical.
