Any A's update?

With opening night tommorow, any word on where the game will be?

It'll be at the Coliseum. ;) (sorry, couldn't resist!)

Makes sense for 1550 to continue airing games, tho'.

Maybe 1550 KFRC and also 1220 KDOW should air A's games this season IF the A's end their radio relationship with XTRA Sports 860

According to the A's Website, on the schedule page where it shows where the game would be on the radio, yesterday it said 860 for every game, now that section is blank. I guess KTRB is now worthless to anyone but an ethnic broadcaster.

It's four years, according to the Oakland A's official press release.

The complete A's network, including KBWF (but not KFRC/1550 or KTRB/860), will include Auburn (KAHI, 950 AM), Eureka (KATA, 1340 AM), Red Bluff (KBLF, 1490 AM), Mt. Shasta (KCWH, 102.3 FM), Modesto (KESP, 970 AM), Redding (KNRO, 1670 AM), Crescent City (KPOD, 1240 AM), King City (KRKC, 1490 AM), Sacramento (KSAC, 105.5 FM), Napa (KVON, 1440 AM), Winnemucca, Nev. (KWNA, 1400 AM) and Lakeport (KXBX, 1270 AM).

That receiver's a genius. Who's going to buy KTRB now (and for how little)?

She tried to play hardball and got beaned right between the eyes.

I guess KVON in The North Bay dropped the A's?

...Which is why they're included in the list of network stations I posted on the previous page.

Not crazy, but it probably ain't going to happen. Of course, of all the radio stations in the Bay Area, how many of us would have guessed that 95.7 The Wolf ("One of the most powerful FM signals in Northern California," per Ken Pries) would be the standalone voice of the A's in the Bay Area?

Perhaps they'll move over to 102.1/98.5 K-Fox this Summer, once the Sharks complete their quest for the Stanley Cup...

A's return to their championship roots being on a C&W station. They were on KEEN when they won the three world series championships in 72-73-74. Side note--KEEN got the A's because they were forced to carry the California Golden Seals..If you didn't take the Seals --No A's...Len Smith was the only GM that stepped up to the plate and took the Charles O. Finley pitch (yes this is a bad pun)

Returning to their roots would be going back to KNBR, which was their flagship station when they moved here from Kansas City. The only parallel I'd draw with KEEN is that the 95.7 signal will leave a lot of listeners without A's baseball on the radio...

Yeah, unfortunate that there's no real South Bay signal for a team that is trying to move there. Sounds like it will be a good fit for both the team and the station though.

Think maybe the Giants will get FM-envy and wind up simulcasting on 107.7?

Saul Levine should LMA KTRB and put K-MZT on 860. From what I hear, he's already got the LA version of K-MZT (AM 1260 licensed to Beverly Hills) on the Web and on the HD-2 of (Go Country) KKGO (FM). He's using the AM to promote the alternate means of delivering the signal. The programming is a mix of classical and standards.

Now the A's have a big FM signal, but how is 95.7 doing as a country station? Now that Entercom has signed the A's for four years, does this mean the station will soon be flipped, perhaps to sports?

CBS had a chance to put a sports talker on 105.3 with both the A's and Raiders, but blew it! :)
