Any Big 4 affiliate airing programs out of pattern

Unless something has changed recently it is done live at 11 AM PT which means it airs live on many east coast stations at 2 PM. Except the Friday show which is prerecorded on Thursday.
Which means it's Live Monday through Thursday on the east and central time zones.

  • CBS provides two separate feeds of Let's Make a Deal, at 10:00 am and 3:00 pm Eastern time (9:00 am and 2:00 pm Central time); affiliates who follow the network's master schedule have the option to air the program in either timeslot.
  • CBS provides an alternate feed of The Young and the Restless at 11:00 am Central time (12:00 pm Eastern); this feed is used by some stations outside of the Eastern Time Zone to accommodate their Noon hour local newscasts.
As I indicated elsewhere, CBS Owned KCNC 4 airs Y&R at 11:00 AM (Something that has been a Denver Daytime TV tradition (Minus a break in the 1990s when it aired at 10:30 AM) since the 1980s after "Love Of Life" was ended by CBS in 1980 (It aired at 11:30 AM before that) WAY back when KMGH 7 had the CBS affiliation

KCNC does however air LMAD at 2:00 PM though

KMGH’s schedule was
10am B&B
10:30 TPIR
11:30 News
Noon Y&R

I remember because my grandparents had a satellite dish that had the Denver channels on it.

KPHO (Phoenix) airs The Price is Right at 9AM, an hour later than the normal pattern time for CBS affiliates in the Mountain Time Zone.
Not true

9:00 AM is THE EARLY timeslot with 10:00 AM being the alternate. Putting TPIR on at 8:00 AM isn't normal for ANY CBS station as that cuts into not only CBS Mornings but also their own local newscasts

KIFI-DT2 Idaho Falls, ID airs TPIR at 9 and Y&R at 10. They show Kelly Clarkson at 11.
Well KIFI is actually more the exception than the rule because KIFI DT 8.2 is secondary to ABC on 8.1 so this is not a surprise in a place like Idaho Falls as it would be in say...Colorado Springs or even Grand Junction for that matter

Actually that was when TPIR was on at 9:00 AM followed by B&B. Y&R aired at 10:30 followed by the news

Then as The Big Switch was approaching, KMGH started airing the ABC soap Loving at 10:00 AM after TPIR

I LIVED in Denver back then & never needed a satellite dish to get the channels as I could get them OTA (Though having cable or satellite did help as it does now)

You might be right but if so it was after this…https://www.radiodiscussions.com/threads/retro-denver-11-11-1994.756137/

I live in NC and I remember TPIR being on at 12:30 my time on KMGH.

TPIR at 9 and Y&R at 10:30 would have made more sense as that would have been the ET feed.

Well both KWGN 2 & KPLR 11 are CW O&O's now so Nexstar may be using them as a template to experiment with a 9-11 PM ET / 8-10 PM elsewhere primetime
Yeah if networks drop the 10-11pm hour who’s to say it has to be the 10-11pm hour? They could choose to drop the 8-9pm hour instead. A station that airs Jeopardy and Wheel could push it back to 8-9 and air news from 7-8. I doubt that happens, likely affiliates will have 10-11pm but who knows?

That’s an interesting thought. I could see affiliates finding the idea of hour long local newscasts at 7 PM followed by syndicated programs from 8-9 pm interesting and potentially more attractive than an extra hour of local news at 10 Pm.

KWGN has it's own morning show separately from KDVR. Also KUCW and WNOL also delay CW's schedule even if WGNO is the weakest among NOLA news stations.

Also, I know WRAL when they were CBS in Raleigh used to air Y&R at 4pm to counter program Oprah on WTVD.

And don’t forget, some ABC O&Os (and WEWS) air General Hospital at 3pm instead of 2pm, especially in WEWS’ case where GH was constantly preempted by the Ohio governor during COVID.

That is technically not out of pattern because ABC also feeds it at 3pm ET.

WFMJ airs the 3rd and 4th hours of Today on a 1-Hour Delay so they can air Live with Kelly at 9am.

WNCN also did that when they switched affiliations in 2016 to carry on the tradition but moved it back to 12:30 last year. Baton Rouge also used to do it. WLKY is the last station to air it at 4. According to their Wikipedia they air it at 12:30 when CBS airs soccer.

And WYFF doesn’t air the fourth hour of Today at all. They also delay the third hour after Live With Kelly.

with Dr. Phil and Rachel Ray axed does that mean upgrades for JHud, Sherri, Karamo, and Steve Wilkos? We seen this already with Ellen before since it took several years to break even.

It all depends where u live and the stations their on. Some stations don't carry these shows at all and others carry them in overnight hours.

Like WSPA, WTKR in Norfolk carried LMAD at 9 AM but now airs it at 10, as does WSPA.
It was mentioned that WRC carries NBC Nightly News at 7. A few others that carry their network news at 7 include WSB Atlanta and WGTU Traverse City-Cadillac, MI (both ABC); and KDKA Pittsburgh, WRGB Albany-Schenectady-Troy, and WCAX Burlington, VT (all CBS). WNCF Montgomery, AL carries World News Tonight at 6 (CT).
I'll be interested in seeing if ABC o&os WABC, WPVI, and WTVD move General Hospital to 2 and start a 3 PM newscast when Rachael Ray's show ends.

I wish I had the response printed when someone asked when each hour of "Today" aired in the different time zones, back when it was two hours. I'm not sure the answer was serious because it ended with "And in Hawaii, they are still watching Dave Garroway".
