Hmmm... "Ron Roberts" ... nice alliteration. Could that be a "radio name" to disguise a real name like Elmer Smith?

And what happened to the last person who was in the midday slot there?

Why a young "budding" person? Are you discriminating against older, proven air talents who are looking for jobs? Or do you just think you can get a young fool for minimum wage to do 80 hours a week including air, production and whatever else nobody else wants to do, just for the golden opportunity of working for you in Podunk?

You'll have a bright future in the deceptive world of corporate radio one day.

I'll defend Ron in the fact that Ron and company at Cenla try to get locals in Cenla to become on air talents and to stay there (I don't know the pay situation over there though). Not as a spring board to some other market 6 months later or run syndication all the time.

And BTW, the afternoon guy was moved over to the newly owned country station If I remember to become PD there (as he had been on the station (KQID) for years If I remember)

Chandler, get a clue, dude...

...I certainly am aware of the (your term) "podunk" nature with which the market I work can be described as; I'm also aware that most SEASONED radio vets would want no part in the situation we're looking to fill. It's a SPRINGboard job to the next level... medium to large markets.

It's called "the minor leagues," Chandler. Most of the players in the farm system are younger folks looking to work their way to the bigs.

By the way, nobody at Cenla makes "minimum wage," nor does anybody pull an 80-hour work week, unless they're salaried and even then, I try and give myself Saturdays off.

C'est la.

Ron,

If I lived closer I would be your boy. I LOVE middays! But, alas, I'm stuck in Picayune, MS.

Sucks to be me.

Never worked there, but I'm guessing you could do much worse than KQID for a gig. Ever heard that signal? I have. It's huge. Read: EXPOSURE!

Good luck, Ron. If I were closer, I'd be glad to help you out also. But the commute from Minnesota would kill me for gas! :)
