With the lack of any real motivation put into this station I wonder if it'll be sold. Does it play any role in selling spots for the cluster? Even Coast with consistently lackadaisacal perfomance plays some sort of a role pulling a few females away from Lite. I realize there's not much high priced overhead there and at this point I'm surprised they even have a separate PD and don't give it to Everett like the days when Hess programmed 3 stations in the building.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if they are part of the Clear Channel liquidation that is going on. I don't know if they'd break up HJJ and HJY; but if they spinoff the clusters like they are doing elsewhere in the country, I wouldn't be surprised....thye may even do a partial, keeping HJY & B and jettisoning Coast and HJJ...who knows in this day & age.
 
They would have no problem breaking up HJJ and HJY. Other than call letter similarity there's no connection there. Most of the on-air money saving bloodbath last year involved Coast. Morning bunch pared down. Middays voicetracked from out of town. Coast could go with HJJ if it had to be. They probably have good male numbers with HJY and B101 is probably ambisexual with that format. I just think they need Coast around but if the current lineup doesn't improve things they could pull one of those female Jack formats like Jayne and just go unstaffed with a street team that shows up at the right events.
 
From what I hear from someone in the Ghetto plex is that WHJJ's numbers are up across the board. I cannot prove it, but that is what I hear.

Until The numbers are available for public consumption or someone in the know wants to fess up, I'll take 3rd party information very skeptically, especially if it is coming from the station in question....
