Any changes in store for Jackson?

When the station was flipped to Miss-103,the album library(for those under 30,albums were big round discs that played songs produced by artists that actually played their own instruments) was of no use to the company and employees were allowed(I hope) to take several for themselves. Of course, the majority went home with the jocks, but there was a time when lp's lined the halls to be cherrypicked by staff.
And,yes, I have a few boxes.

whatever became of be bop records and tapes?

Bebop is still around. Jack's Jeans went the way of Meadowbrook Cinema Six and Automotive Audio- only around on old disc jockey airchecks. (Robert Grayson's probably got a website for it!)

Ah if only I could turn on a radio and hear...

Sergio Fernandez, Wayne The Freak, Johnny Summer, Bruce, Dave Adcock, Perez Hodge, Sabastian (Curtis T. Jones)...

unless thers radios in heaven. you want be hearing david adcock anytime soon :( RIP dave..

The only thing changed recently is Rick and Bubba is now on WJNT and Rock 93.9 has some yuck it up syndicated guys Lex and Terry on in the morning. Plus their audio still sucks to the point is unlistenable. Speech sound like its got too much bass and everyone is eating the microphone. When Brad was on in the morning it was so boomy and boxy I refused to listen. Steve and DC on SL-100 sounds the same way. Worse than AM. Do 93.9, Y-101, US 93.3, SL 100 and WJMI ever actually listen to their over the air audio? Apparently not. Sounds like a cheap boombox.

I had a feeling that someone would make some remark about my post. Incidently most bad sounding radio stations actually sound Better on a cheap radio because they know that its the way most people listen to the radio anyway. Its when you tune in on the "big" stereo in the living room its when you notice just how bad FM radio sounds these days. The bass causes the speakers to start crawling across the floor and the disk jockey sounds like he's inside of a rubbermaid trash can. Its the same concept that they had with the old Dynagroove records of the 60's, when they would deliberatly tinker with the equalization in order to make the record sound good on a portable record player. but it would sound worse on the big hi-fi set.

Flytrap...some stations in this neck of the woods apparently feel LOUD is everything...and if my equipment is not malfunctioning there are some with way
much too modulation...but, to each his own...thanks JBI
