Any Chicago AM DX still possible in South Florida?

I know back in the 60s, 70s, & early 80s reception of the 50K Chicago powerhouses was still possible in southern Florida. In fact in the Miami area I received AMs 670, 720, 780, 890 & even 1000. However, with all the latin American clutter these days I'm wondering if it's still possible to hear any of these stations from Chicago from Palm Beach South on the east coast or Sarasota south on the west coast?

Fom Englewood FL (35 mi S of Sarasota), the only one w/ some regularity is 780, very occasional catches of 720 and 1000, can't remember getting 670 or 890.

The one from that distance that used to blast into Venice for a couple hours after sunset was 1190 WOWO/Ft Wayne,IN...of course, that was before it was castrated. The real trick is getting anything from Florida up here. I've heard two...WAPE 690/Jacksonville lost their directional abilities sometime in the 90's & was operating with 12.5KW non directional nights & that was here in south central Indiana every night. 820 near Tampa forgot to switch pattern one night about 10 years ago...fantastic signal...which abruptly disappeared 2-3 hours after sunset. Only other Florida catch was an all traffic station near Orlando on 1680 before that band got cluttered (also heard a California X-band all traffic station during that era around 5AM local time). 1680 was here every night. FM & TV are easy during skip season, but AM is a chore. C'mon Florida...share the love with us Yankees...

I get some of the Chicago stations weakly here at night (especially WBBM-AM 780 and WMVP-AM 1000). I've never received anything further south than WSB-AM 750 of Atlanta. For reference, I'm in central Connecticut, not too far from Hartford.

When I was in Orlando a few weeks ago I tried - WBBM was about the only one I could get.

I also received 820 near Tampa early one morning in the winter just before Chicago sunrise. They were already on their daytime pattern and they were blasting in for a short time.

Agree that 690 from Jax is probably the most common of a rare bunch up here. Its been years since I've heard it, however. The Montreal 690 in French usually owns the channel here in the Chicago area.

In Orlando

670 Never
720 Never
780 Rarely and very weak then
890 Rarely and very weak under Spanish
1000 Never

I've managed to pull Chicago 670 and 720 out of the mess on several occasions in Central FL. Most recently was this April using a Sony fm walkman (with an am tuner). I've never snagged 1000, however. XEOY and several others own the channel....at least every time I've tried.
