Any CHR-Alternative Hybrids?

Only one I can think of is KLAL "Alice 107.7" in Little Rock, AR...

There's a station in Winnipeg, Canada called Curve 94.3 that has a definite Alternative lean while still playing the big CHR hits.

Definitely Curve. Here's their 5pm hour from today. They've been struggling in the ratings since their launch 2 years ago. A station targeting men AND women 18-34. I don't think they'd ever be the P1 choice of any demo unfortunately. Maybe a strong P2 to the monster CHR and ACTIVE ROCK stations in Winnipeg. Again, great in theory but no ratings.

5:01PM The Fixer Pearl Jam
5:04PM Pon De Replay Rihanna
5:09PM Billionaire Travie McCoy Feat. Bruno Mars
5:13PM Courage The Tragically Hip
5:17PM Homecoming Kanye West Feat. Chris Martin
5:21PM Mountain Man Crash Kings
5:25PM Alligator Tegan & Sara
5:29PM One Thing Finger Eleven
5:37PM Please Don't Leave Me Pink
5:41PM Best I Ever Had State Of Shock
5:45PM Memories David Guetta Feat. Kid Cudi
5:51PM Creep Radiohead
5:55PM Young Forever Jay-Z Feat. Mr Hudson

Curve's PD says that the station was third this Spring in the adult 18-34 demographic and that they experienced an 9.5% increase in that demo since last Spring. Either way, I've sampled the station online and couldn't manage to listen for more than 15 minutes! Then again, I'm slightly older than their target demo.

KLAL should move more mainstream CHR now that Hot 96.5 is defunct. When I lived in Little Rock, sometimes I didn't know whether KLAL wanted to be CHR, modern rock, or hot AC. They ignore most rap and play minimal dance. Their focus is Nickelback, Daughtry, and the many like-sounding clones. With Hot 96.5 gone, there is a void in Little Rock as there is now no true CHR. Most of today's hottest songs are neither urban nor rock so they usually will not get played in Little Rock.

Speaking of the Little Rock market, K-Hits should just convert to a true CHR. Their '90s-early '00s playlist sounds horrible.

And the ratings reflect it. I doubt their retro CHR format will be around much longer. Ratings went from a 4.2 when they were rhythmic CHR to a 0.8!
