lifeuw19 said:Uh, 1230 doubled? Wow, you do know that double of zero is still zero, right? WTVN slipping? I don't see it. 1230 is a joke of a signal. I will put money on it that in 12 months that format is off the frequency. Take it for what it's worth. WTVN is a powerhouse. Always has been, always will be. WTPG is not going to survive until 2007. It's just the way it works. You and the other 4 people who actually listen to that garbage will have to find something else to listen to for your disgust for the President.

He's trying to prove that liberal kook radio is going to have some kind of significant following, when the ratings show that 98.3% of all radio listeners don't listen! Don't give him too much credit for business sense, either. Google his name and you'll find that he's been involved with Amway/Quixtar ... lol Now that's a great business opportunity!

I think that the reason Air America won't necessarily succeed in it's existing condition is because it's just bad radio. I don't think the content is necessarily bad (simply because it meshes with my own mindset) but it's painful to listen to. Al Franken's show is just a parody of talk show. I can't stand the Ed Shultz Show... it's production quality is horrible. etc.
Talk radio is ruled by mostly conservative talk shows. This is fine. I like that the "other" viewpoint has it's fair say as well because as a free nation we should not restrict anyone's right to voice their opinion. Get both sides of the argument out there on the table and let the listener decide what they want to believe. Anyone (either conservative OR liberal) that makes up their mind without listening to both sides of an issue is an idiot. Just my 2 cents.
Dirty_Harry said:The Air America garbage is on a 50,000 watt signal in Cincinnati and it can barely break a 1.0. The only place Air America does better is in places like Columbus, heavily laden with welfare recipients and government employees ..... Because only a government employee would think that a pipsqueak station with a 1.7 rating was "picking up momentum".

The only reason Air America has lasted this long is only to rub salt in the wounds of liberals and show them point blank that nobody (or at least 98.3% of radio listeners) wants to listen to some [*****] liberal whine for 3 hours his crazy conspiracy theories! But then again, liberals like welfare so why shouldn't Clear Channel throw them a bone in the form of a throw-away signal that nobody will listen to anyway. Table scraps for liberals!
When 1230 was WFII ... with G. Gordon Liddy and an entire conservative line-up, its ratings hovered in the 2.0 to 2.5 range. That wasn't good enough then and it isn't now.

I am now seeing why you refer to yourself as dirty, Harry. Your tactics are similar to those being used currently against John Murtha.
At least I disclose fully who I am. And for the last eight months, I have been providing assistance to Ohio Homeland Security. If you checked me out further, you would know that.
And, like the people who have made progressive radio a growing format, we always cite where we get our figures. In this case, www.AllAccess.com supplied them.
Needless to say, Harry, I have no desire to get in the dirt with you.

Sean, what's the deal with you & WTPG? You work in state government, yet you have a sales rep from 'TPG. What are you selling? And why are you so down on WTVN? You do know that you'd get a lot more for your money advertising on a station with actual listeners, right? I'm trying to figure out what you're trying to prove and I can't come up with a durn thing. ???

So...you only need 3 or 4 customers to keep your business alive? What are you selling, "I HATE W" bumper stickers?

And now that I have figured out how the quote system works, it appears you've been the one checking up on me about my previous venture. What you do not know is that I became involved through a well-known Columbus sports commentator, and both of us have gone on to more lucrative ventures.
