ANY COUNTRY AC HYBRID STATIONS?

Are there any stations finding success with or even programming country/AC hybrid formats? I seem to remember maybe in the 80's that some stations were going with a cross-country format. Naturally it would have to be in markets where ratings showed both formats were sharing enough listeners to make it worthwhile, & I think I would stick to country songs that appealed to women. I'd also be pretty selective with the AC music I programmed. If this format did die long ago, is it time for a revival?
 
I hear "country pop" on AC FMs all the time. Some include Taylor Swift's "Love Story", "Mine" and some Rascal Flatts, "My Wish" being an overplayed one.

There used to be a station that was a hybrid of both in the Cincinnati area... 89.3 WYNS "Hybrid FM" in Waynesville OH. It's gone, switched to a simulcast of "Class-X" WMWX/88.9.

KIOW 107.3 in Forest City, IA describes its format on its website as a mix of contemporary hits (actually AC, I think), country hits, and oldies. They call it "The Best of America's Most Popular Music."

I know there are also a number of "community radio" stations in Canada that play both AC and country. CKXS 99.1 in Wallaceburg, ON, is one (they also play alternative rock). I have heard of others that play AC and country dayparted rather than mixed together.
 
WBIG in Greensboro, NC tried this for a while in the 80s (after switching from full-time religion). They finally had to go straight country. They were trying to bring back the old AM station WBIG (which signed off in 1986) with its personalities, and another station had just picked up straight AC.

A few years later they just gave up and did rhythmic CHR and went to number one. Okay, two. WTQR was number one for years.
 
I dunno about radio doing this but I hear that sort of mix on the in-store "Music System" at my local supermarket.
 
I think KURY-FM in Brookings, OR had been both AC and country at the same time in the past. Probably classic hits now.

Houston tried this back in the early 80's with KSRR "Star 97"... it was entertaining but it did not last long...I think because country and a/c music were so different back then. I think with so much new country having a rock / pop edge...it could work now with the right mix...
