Any Experience with the PTEK 5kw FM Transmitter?

Don't know much about them, but looking at the PTEK 5 kw FM transmitter for a new C3 FM. Anyone here had a chance to work with one?

I've never had the pleasure of using their higher powered rigs. BUT, I've been very pleased with their exciters (FM-25E). One of my college stations has one as a nice "warm stand-by", (just in case). My own little 14 watter (WXRB-FM, Dudley, MA) has had one for nearly 10 years and has had virtually no downtime whatsoever, 24/7. It handles both Stereo (Optimod) and RDS (Inovonics) with no problem. For the price, it can't be beat.

Ditto on that, I have a first generation FM 25E unit that had some problems after about 2 months but was fixed under warranty with no hassle and has run perfect ever since (3 years).

AND...I will chime in on their 1kw unit....after several months...flawless. I believe the 5KW is simply a few of these combined. IMPORTANT...Peter is at the helm and he says three year warranty, and I believe him. It sounds good, too! Not to worry, in my opinion. Just keep the filters and site clean...solid state, HUH!
