Any free signals?

OK, I got Sirius for Christmas, and you can listen to it by tuning your radio to an unused FM frequency. In the professional opinions of those of you who know all there is to know about the frequencies in the Houston area, what would be an unused channel with the least interference? Not that it's that big of a deal to press a couple buttons and change it when there's bleed-over, but I was just curious.

87.9 will also work, since 88.1 is occupied by low power KFTG in Pasadena. I've used 88.3 on occasion since I live in Ft. Bend and the AFR station in Conroe can be covered up with most FM modulators I've used. But past that point, there's not much out there in the way of vacant FM channels, thanks to the metro (Houston) and all the rimshotters out of Beaumont/Pt. Arthur, etc.

I have had Sirius for about a year now. I use 92.5 for mine, and have very seldom had to deal with interference. Once in a great while Cool 92.5 from Beaumont gives my signal some hell, but for the most part you should have clear reception. I live in the Heights, just north of downtown. I'm sure the farther east you go, the more interference that Cool 92.5 would cause.

Buy the FM modulator

I use 87.9 but I have found it's worth the $50 or so to get the FM modulator accessory installed which blanks out ANY and ALL fm broadcast interference...I have XM in two vehicles and Sirius in the other and I can promise you if you drive around even just in the area, you'll be happier.
