Reviving a dead thread, I guess, but I'm putting in a vote for WDZH-HD2 (V98.7) in Detroit. I have a tiny portable Insignia HD set. After visiting relatives north of Detroit, I was glued to 98.7 HD2 for most of my drive home. They still play some of the BA-type stuff (I heard Al Green "I'm Still In Love With You", Jill Scott "So In Love", and Linda Ronstadt "Ooh Baby Baby", a few covers such as "Ain't Nobody" by Jeff Lorber) but MUCH less of it than they did as an analog/HD1 station prior to flipping to AMP Radio over two years ago, and a lot of music now that BA wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole. They also play fewer vocals than BA and have a wider variety of the vocals they do play. I can't see BA ever adding the Gretchen Parlato version of "Holding Back The Years" (which sounds almost like it belongs on a Triple A station), but V played it.
My journey took me through the coverage area of BA affiliate 104.7 The Oasis (W284BQ, also heard on 107.5 WGPR-HD2). At one point I decided to check it out... caught the tail end of a cover of Anita Baker's "Sweet Love" (assuming Najee's) into a burnt-to-charcoal-consistency soft-rock favorite... Dido's "Thank You." I said "No Thank You" and went back to 98.7 HD2. ;D With more instrumentals, it made a hectic and stressful drive home much more relaxing and pleasant.
