Any Good Jazz Stations around here?

Does anyone know of any good Jazz stations to listen to in the greater Boston Area or Cape Cod? I have scanned the dial but can't seem to find any. HELP!!! ;) Thanks!

WGBH is on 89.7 FM.

Also, if you are in the South County area of Rhode Island...you will find jazz programming on WJZS 99.3 FM "The Bridge." In Newport, RI...WXHQ 105.9 FM is an LPFM station that features jazz music as well.

WHRB might have some shows...WGBH has jazz weeknights from 7 pm to 5 am according to their schedule,
as well as some blues (Sat nights) and Jazz Gallery weekend nights.

Mood Swings--Sun 3-6 pm WMWM 91.7 Salem (For blues, the Juke Joint Sun 12-3 pm. Yours truly
is on tomorrow and on 7/30)

I think there may still be some jazz on the Cape, maybe on WQRC 99.9, WMVY 92.7, and WOMR 92.1 out of
Provincetown (which can also be picked up across the bay in Plymouth)

WQRC: Sunday jazz brunch, Sunday 9 am-noon

WMVY: Sunday Morning and All That Jazz
"Sunday morning has its own rhythms and cadence. The alarm clock is off, the coffee is on and Dave Kish plays the brightest lights from the full spectrum of jazz, from 6 to 10am."

WMVY is at 92.7 and I think they have a repeater somewhere

WOMR schedule: http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/womr/guide.guidemain

WMJX is doing smooth jazz on thier HD chan.

XM radio has several Jazz stations. :)

right and there's an article about smooth jazz in Sunday Globe...mentions the WMJX-HD2 sm.jazz feed

WNBP, 1450, Newburyport runs jazz/big bands/pop as a full-time format. They cover Essex County. Maybe they cross the water down to the Cape(?)

Don't count on WNBP too much longer. Tanger has succeeded in running it into the ground. Word is that time brokered programming is coming. In fact WBOQ isnt doing too well either.....lots of debt and it paid too much to run the Sox this year and EEI only allowed them to sell avails in the pregame show. The few remaining employees should be brushing up on their Spanish.

If you've got a good antenna, then you may be able to pick up WAKX 102.7 Narragansett, RI. They just recently flipped to jazz music. Might be tough to get in though since it's squished between 102.5 WCRB-soon-to-be-WKLB and 102.9 WPXC "Pixy 103."

Also, there's 90.5 WICN/Worcester.

No

Boston is the one market that lacks jazz on the radio. What you will find are piecemeal efforts on specialty shows across the dial. But no station specializing in the format.

What I find particulary interesting is how Radio One, the supposed leader in Black programming, lacks jazz on it's stations, not just WILD but across the nation.

My suggestion is to log on to the stream of jazz station WBGO in Newark, NJ. That station is legendary.

The # of people with HD radios is minimal. It's not a viable option. And other markets have full time jazz stations without having to resort to HD radio. Another short coming of the Boston radio dial.

Also, WBRU 95.5 FM in Providence does a jazz show weekday overnights from 2AM to 5AM. They even throw in some classical music as well.
