Any Guesses/Suggestions for Jocks on Movin 93.9?

I suggest Boomer Cervantes. We all know his voice is behind all of the imaging so far (and I hope it stays that way). Who else would sound "right" on this station?

I also have noticed that the voice of Yesi Ortiz from Power is being used. I never thought she fully fit at kpwr, so i wouldn't be surprised if I heard her on movin 93.9. I also have noticed in that kpwr has alot of mixers considering they are not mixing all weekend this summer. I believe that some of the mixers will be moved to this station. I think dj enrie, and richard vission would fit perfectly.

I wouldn't be surprised if KZLA lure several ex-KPWR alumni back. This format would be the perfect fit for them.

I also agree that they will probably use their in-house mixers from Power 106 for the new Movin' 93.9, especially RHV, since he also does some fill-in shifts at Power.

I'd only ask for one thing. NO street sounding jocks. Lets hear some real professional air talent that deserves to work in Los Angeles. Not the type that works next door at Power 106, in other words.

Dave Williams and Vicky Moore.

They've worked their magic at KNX, you can have them.

Thank you. All these knucklehead, keeping it real street jocks couldn't have worked in mainstream CHR in the 80's doing overnight weekend fill. They are not skilled as mass-appeal communicators. Its all style & bull shit.
The funny thing is, they can't do anything but hip-hop. That's it. Enuff of the pousers. It used to mean something when you work in the bigs, but these guys cheated.

Mucho Morales anyone?? I think Mucho would be the perfect PM drive DJ. He was on Power at their birth, why not?

Mucho was at KHJ when Rick Dees was doing mornings there back in 79-80. I did news from 10AM to 6PM and I think Mucho came on right after Dees and did 9-noon (KHJ jocks mostly had three hour shifts then). If Mucho is making a living not being on the air, it's probably best at his age to not give that up for yet another air shift unless it doesn't interfere with his day job :) Unless you made Rick Dees-type money, radio is not going to provide for your old age so at some point it's time to move on.

Mucho is working at (Dial-Global) Excelsior Radio Networks (former Westwood One) in Valencia on the Oldies Channel. Great jock, great guy. A true pro. Actually, any of the jocks that had landed at Amaturo's station in T.O. during this decade would be the kind of professional air talents that I would love to hear on Movin.

Italian Stallion, I agree about Mucho, we both know him personally. Yeh that "Lite92.7" ha ... I still have an aircheck of Mucho's first day there.... How's this for a first day (late summer 1998) .... They had a power failure there (summer heat) and there was dead air for a few hours during Mucho's shift.
Also, didn't Paul Freeman do some time there? Wasn't Paul part of the KZLA staff recently?

Hosw about bringing back DJ Speedy K

Hey Speedy...nice to hear you're still around! Your mixes would be PERFECT for this station. Your mixshows on Groove 103.1 were awesome...I really miss hearing your mixes too. You should be on Sirius or XM mixing on their classic dance channels. Well, I really hope that you can get hired to be on Movin' 93.9...your mixes would be excellent on there.

And hey, where can I get some of your mixes on CD, mp3, or whatever?

Yes mornings up until the Jill disaster came along. He did weekends at KZLA up until the format change.

Too bad they won't consider some of those who had CHR backgrounds that were at KZLA for Movin, like former KIIS super talents Paul Freeman or Whitney Allen. But since it's a fresh start, I guess that is understandable.

Whitney previous to KZLA was at KLIT, also.

Its starting to sound like a Power 106 reunion station...lol. But I would be ok with that. Boomer, Mucho and add in Paul Freeman mid-days and Dees in the morning. Say, is Brother Bill still around? He was great for overnights!!!

Just hire any availible jocks from KIIS-FM's heyday of the 80's, that would make for interesting radio!

YO YO YO!!!

Foh Shizzel my nizzel!!!

Yea i think that whole thing is a little played out for anybody over the age of 24.

If they want real 'street cred' Go with solid professional sounding jocks. Let the music do the talking.

Don't need another wanna-be gangsta getting cheesey with the sheesey.

BTW - I have no idea what, if anything I just said. ;D
