Any Hurricane Benefits On Canadian TV?

Tomorrow (September 2nd), NBC (and several cable networks under the same ownership as NBC) will broadcast a musical benefit for the Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.

And it appears that Tuesday (September 6th), all the U.S. broadcast-TV networks, and many U.S. cable networks, will simulcast a similar benefit special.

Does anyone in Canada (or near the border, within range of Canadian TV stations) know if any Canadian networks will either simulcast these (or other) U.S.-produced hurricane benefits, or produce their own??

I know CBC is in the midst of a lockout, but maybe if CTV or Global produces a benefit special, the network producing it could arrange for the CBC (along with the other Canadian TV networks) to simulcast it.

Actally, it's the 9th now, due to technicalities in getting the systems in place.

Wouldn't be surprised -- following 9/11, CTV and Global carried the US nets' "Salute To Heroes" special, but with their own number over the US's number (thinking was the US number wouldn't be valid in Canada, but it was).

Don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised if the CBC didn't carry it -- they didn't carry the aforementioned 9/11 special.

Global, CTV, Life Network, CMT and a few other Canadian networks carried 'America: A Tribute to Heroes'. Most inserted a Canadian telephone line or in the case of 'Life Network' had a huge piece of text covering half the screen(the background was transparent so you could still see the performances and the US number)...

Well, CBC did invite CTV and Global to air 'Canada for Asia' but both refused. CTV had it's own concert planned. Muchmoremusic and MTV Canada carried the special, as did CMT.<P ID="signature">______________
