This was briefly discussed a few weeks ago, but does anyone know if there's going to be any special programming for Power 106's 20th birthday this Wednesday? Thanks.

No. It has been 2 different stations.
What they are doing now has nothing to
do with the Dance CHR format that ran
the first decade. It's all yo yo now

This Wednesday is West Coast Wednesday! Relive all the great Gansta Classics that defined Power for 20 years!

Ok Joking aside, Happy Birthday Power 106!
______________

Funny... When I think of Power 106 over the past 20 years, I think of dance music, and Top 40 that moved! It was about remixes of Jody Watley, Madonna, and Information Society. The Power 106 I listened to had NOTHING to do with RAP music! And I remember all those Red and Black bumper stickers that said:

Power 106
Pure Energy, Dance Now!

</bold>
But that's just my 2 Cents (and back then, it really was, 2 Cents).

Very good rendition of the sticker! Power's first five years were THE BEST! I hope they'll honor their past, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

IMHO, they have been playing some more rhythmic tracks. The "Up in da club" sets have been very rhythmic leaning, almost dare I say KIIS-ish.

What happened to...

What happened to 'Friday Night Flavas'?
______________
What, you were expecting me to make sense for a change?
