Any live NYE countdowns for anywhere outside the Eastern Time Zone?

They have specials from 10 pm until 12:15 am which are live. As I said, all the NYE proceedings in Las Vegas are shown.

Dallas is doing it's BigDNYE (don't ask) special on WFAA/8, for the 5th year. Up to now, Ch.8 has broken away from the Rockin' Eve show at 11p or 11:30p to show the local stuff, then back to NYC at 12:30a. This year, they're showing all the primetime Rockin' Eve, then after the news, doing the local Dallas NYE till 12:30. Not only that, but Ch.8 has gotten other stations around TX and surrounding states interested in a syndie setup, so hopefully with others watching what's going on DFW for the first time, the fireworks won't be as lame as in past years. Yeah I know, nothing seems to top what other cities do for NYE, including Seattle (love the Space Needle fireworks show!). At least there's something in DFW now besides do-it-yourself/go-to-a-bar for NYE.

Almost forgot, the stations showing DFW's NYE::::

Abilene, TX - KTAB-CBS 11:00p
Ada, OK - NTEN-CW 10:30p
Alexandria, LA - NALB-CBS 10:30p
Amarillo, TX - KCPN-MyTV 10:30p
Ardmore, OK - NTEN-CW 10:30p
Austin, TX - KVUE-CBS 11:30p
Beaumont / Port Arthur, TX - KFDM-CBS 11:05p
Bryan/College Station, TX - KBTX-CBS 10:35p
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX - WFAA-ABC - 10:30p
El Paso, TX - KVIA-DT-CW 10:30p
Houston, TX - KHOU-DT-IND 10:30p
Las Cruces, NM - KVIA-DT-CW 10:30p
Lawton, OK - KAUZ-CBS 10:35p
Lubbock, TX - KLBK-CBS 10:35p
New Orleans, LA - WUPL-MyTV 10:30p
Odessa/Midland, TX - KOSA-CBS 10:35p
San Angelo, TX - KLST-CBS 10:35p
Sherman/Denison, TX - NTEN-CW 10:30p
Shreveport, LA - KSHV-MyTV 10:30p
Waco/Temple, TX - KWTX-CBS 10:35p
Wichita Falls, TX - KAUZ-CBS 10:35p
Wichita-Hutchinson, KS - KWCH-CBS / KSCW-CW 10:35p

The Peach Drop used to be syndicated around the Southeast for several years, mainly on independent, My and CW affiliates, but they stopped doing it last year.

WKRG-TV in Mobile, Alabama has plans to broadcast the MoonPie Over Mobile celebration live and WEAR-TV in Pensacola, Florida has plans to broadcast the Pensacola Pelican Drop celebration live shortly before and after the new year begins.

WBRC in Birmingham is also carrying it.

WMC-TV in Memphis aired it as well.

WKNO, the PBS station in Memphis and WLJT in Lexington, TN carried the guitar drop from Beale Street. I'm not sure if it was carried anywhere else.

Mississippi Public Broadcasting carried the Beale Street Memphis show, but the picture quality was totally messed up. You could barely see it. It had green smudge all over the picture. and from what I could tell it was in "squeeze-o-vision"

Jackson, MS also had the moon pie drop from Mobile

KRON4 in San Francisco has their annual NYE Live.11:30pm until 1am. Catherine Heenan and Gary Radnich host, covers the festivities up and down the west coast.

Arkansas Educational TV Network (AETN) carried the WKNO "Beale Street" guitar drop last night on its network of stations in Arkansas.

On radio, the NPR show “Toast of the Nation” has a live countdown from every time zone.

I saw the MoonPie drop on television. I thought it was too low-key for a New Year's celebration show. Maybe it was because of the foggy weather, but the crowd seem very unenthusiastic.

I don't know if having the MoonPie sign half-lit while it was dropping was intentional or a technical mess-up, but it looked very bad in the foggy air.

Someone already mentioned it but New Year's at the Needle has aired on KING 5 in Seattle for YEARS now. This year, even though the fireworks show was only about seven minutes long, was excellent (watched in glorious high definition). After New Years at the Needle, KING 5 airs Carson Daly's NYE show on tape delay.

Back in the day, channel 5 used to carry coverage live from Overton Park, simulcast with FM 100, I believe. Those were the days. ::)

WNPT, Nashville Public Television, also carried the Beale Street coverage from Memphis for at least the second year in a row. Since all the other local stations here were in reruns (!), it was actually the best local New Year's Eve coverage, by virtue of being the ONLY local New Year's Eve coverage! ::)

That is strange and sad considering there is the Music Note Drop (formerly Guitar Drop) in Nashville on CNN for the past 2 years. WTVF ought to step up and air considering they are the big name in Nashville for programming (and they operate a separate channel as well).

I watched Antonio Inoki do the new years countdown live from the Saitaima Super Arena in Tokyo on HDNet. Of course I couldn't understand a word he said in Japanese but the numbers counting down told the story. It was on at 9AM central time Dec 31st 2011.
Didn't have a chance to watch the Moon Pie or Pelican drops on local Mobile, Alabama TV at Midnight... I think my neighbors had some home made fireworks... they were loud enough to make my bird dogs cry.... and my dogs live for the next gun shot. Hope my Setters don't have new years flashbacks next time I work them.
