Any local access channels still use radio stations?

Wow they had cable radio in the early 90s? I think this should be discussed in another topic. I always thought cable radio was only available in very rural areas. I don't think it was ever available in Natick. There might be some companies that still offer it in very rural areas, but I'm not sure.
In the mid 70's I lived in Auburn Maine and I think it was Adams Russel Cable, they had an FM service for I think $2.00 a month. It had the locals plus WCGY The Rock Garden,WVBF was Top 40 and WBCN.I don't think any of these stations were on the correct spot on the dial.It was fun being able to listen to Boston Radio from about 130 miles away.On the TV side we had channel 38 & 56 and I think 9 out of Canada besides the locals.
