Any local stations next?

Stan,
I doubt CC will spin the BPT cluster...they are making too much money....BUT then I heard rumors a while back, CC would eventually spin everything BELOW Market 75 (and BPT is 133...or 132 depending on the year..they swap back and forth wwith Shreveport at times)
All I wish is someone would shoot 92.5's audio chain and throw it out! Also Caldwell's mic on 560 sounds like trashed dog meat through a blender at times....it REALLY sucks....The non comms sounds better than them!

I listened to 92.5 today (no CDs in the car) and there was an echo or some unintended effect that kept occurring, plus the song that was being played reminded me of a bad MP3 file (maybe it was).

I keep thinking that they will fix their audio when they move their transmitter...

Move their transmitter?? Hadnt seen or heard anything on that Stan....they really cannot move it anyway due to the other adj and co channel stations. The reverb on there should be GONE and the processor reset to something less clipped and hashed....but thats the way CC (and I think Caldwell) wants it.....that sux....you DONT make a FM sound like an AM!

You're right, not happening, but maybe he wasn't talking about 92.5, CW. Quite a while back on this board there was talk about KLVI moving to a different site, south of where they are, if I recall. (Most everybody agreed that wouldn't have made sense, of course.) But there was a KLVI application back in '03 to correct the coordinates (due to an old error in reference points or something) that was noticed in an inspection, so maybe that's how the rumor got started.

Caldwell grew up on AM, and that may be the quality he is used to hearing (if he can still hear that well after all these years).

As far as moving is concerned, here are the links that indicate a construction permit is in the offing - it looks like they are moving KCOL to the same tower as 95.1.

You're right, stan. That's the one, alright. (I was looking for anything pending in the CDBS, but oops, I didn't enter the full call letters, KCOL-FM.) Anyway, the move is a done deal. Looks like got a license to cover for the new site within the last week.

and as a matter of interest, KRCM has been off the air for at least two days that I noticed - tonight the astros game is on KOLE instead. Has the Woodlands move already taken place? I don't live near the Woodlands to tell if they have moved.

I noticed today that the KRCM tower is no longer there. Gone!

That's right...the old KRCM tower was in bad shape. Ralph couldn't get anyone to climb it. and it was turning into a liability, so it came down. In its place should be a crank up 100' tower as a temporary fix until the station is eventually moved over to Shenandoah.

Geesh, how did that one get pass me?? You're right, it is a move to 95.1's tower on Church Rd....the CP was issued in Dec 05......guess CC wants to remove the 500ft tower off Entergy's property (which they probably pay a good amount of rent)....and the S Vidor tower has been there for decades...
As for Al, KAYC (and even 97.5 KAYD with its simple 8000 Optimod) back in the 70s sounded better than 92.5 does!! I worked with Al there for a short while before he went to KLVI.....
