Any male targeted stations here...

that aren't talk, sports and classic rock? Shure would like to hear a male targeted active rocker. Seems like The Buzz is more female oriented.

On a side note, I keep hearing from people how much they miss Rock 101 and how The Buzz sucks. The guy who sold me my car, my boss at work, anyone who I get into discussions about H-town radio. Why just bring back Rock 101? Make it an active rocker that GUYS can listen to without cringing when a wussy U2 song comes on.

I'm a HUGE fan of KROQ in Los Angeles. When I'm there, it's the only station I listen to, even when XM is an option for me.

Good, hard rocking music. Here's a list of the most played songs on the station.

I'd love to see COX flip the point to something like this. And yeah, I thinks personalities like OL Dave and Wendy Miller would work just fine. I think the more a person knows the music they play, the better they are. Heck, I'd even like to see Pruett and Shannon on as a morning show too. I thought they were great on 97.5 together.

Sorry, guys. KIOL was an attempt to bring back the legendary Rock 101, and your boss, the guy who sold you your car and everyone else in this town didn't support the station monetarily. They did achieve the goal of Man Radio, however, as the station demo was roughly 95% male but the money wasn't there, hence the flip to Jack. Maybe men should be more vocal about the spending power they control, most radio is more female targeted because advertisers are convinced that women control the vast majority of household purchases, up to 85%. While I do actually buy the cars and am the designated "Negotiator" in my home, my partner is still in charge of long term, unnegotiable services such as electricity, cell phone service, inurance, etc.. that require research. This is strictly a division of our strengths. Regardless of what we want to believe radio is a commerce driven industry and in order to have what you want in a station, it needs to make sense to the advertisers so that the station will remain healthy, money talks, bs walks, so to speak.

I'd love to see Houston bring in a station like KISS in SA or KNCN in Corpus Christi. KNCN is an awesome rock station in my opinion. Believe it or not I think Corpus has a pretty good mix of stations down there. Now if Houston could do the same...

I know I'm just dreaming, but a guy can dream can't he?
