Any Meteor Scatter catches last week?

Did anybody catch any Meteor Scatter DX (FM or TV) during the Geminid Meteor Shower last week?

I saw a few hints of something in the high VHF band, but never anything recognizable (analog) or that would decode to a PSIP ID (in Digital).

Tried. For better or worse, we had a pretty good tropo opening down here (Nashville) and the 400-mile tropo DX from Mobile blocked out all the decent meteor scatter channels!

Same here in south FL, save the tropo. Ping after ping, but never an ID. I am sure that I did catch 104.5 serving Nashville, as I heard "Jake Locker" & "would Locker play that?" or something similar (Locker, the Tennessee Titans' QB, was mentioned via Ms on 2 occasions).

I gotta remember to call the station about it, with the clips, as they did not return my e-mail.

I'd also say I got WSKZ 106.5 Chattanooga, but only if you verify via yes.com, which lists songs played. The one I heard was almost 5 minutes off from the time listed.

What time did you hear it? I can try to record the same show & send you come clips for voice comparison..

I heard bursts too, but nothing anywhere near identifiable.

It's okay, I will call them, because it is also possible that what I heard was a network feed like ESPN. I see that 104.5 has *some* local programming. I think I heard it around 12:15 pm CST which would be local-programming time. I do not log times, although I suppose I oughta.

I plan to call another station as well.

BTW WAXY 104.3 turned on the "din of iBiquity" again last week, so 104.5 is out for MS....again.

Although this was by far the best meteor shower I've witnessed in my life (~5-7 per minute at its peak around 1030pm central) the scatter didn't bring me any presents. Coastal tropo was low but active enough so that the only reasonably clear frequency I had was 106.9 and I only heard two or three bursts there. Not enough to identify anything. And they didn't seem to correlate with any visible meteors, either.

One reason I remember the Geminids shower is, I watched a meteorite land about 20 feet from my car one December morning a few years ago. After realizing what it was, I turned around and drove back, but I was running late for the AM newscast, so I just quickly looked to see if anything was still burning.
We went back with the Planetarium guys later that day, and they went back the following day with metal detectors, but the owner of the house was being piss-y and refused to let them search in his front yard. We never did find it.

Seeing that little fireball sure makes the concept of ionization more real.
