ANY MORE RUMORS ON STATIONS FLIPPING??

March seems to be the popular choice, but I can't see anyone else flipping anytime soon. (That matters, anyways.) Might be a while.

naw, just a big fan of a top-40 station in houston that doesn't screw up their playlist to sound like another station of a DIFFERENT format. I wonder what they're gonna do with the listeners to celebrate the anniversary

lol...something cool i bet..i work for 107.9 as a sidekick in the morning show... and well..our party was off the walls...it was cool

What about the possibility of KHMX becoming more like KODA when CBS takes them in house? I know this isn't consistent with a true format flip but it makes sense since KODA is a top biller and CBS already has Hot to go after KRBE. Also, you could VT most of the day saving them money. Any thoughts?

Well, I gotta believe 790 is ripe for change....

And, cumulus' new leader will likely be taking one of their stations hispanic...

790 is the most likely for a format flip to spanish language.

Its more likely to carry a polka format than spanish.

Hispanic usage of Ancient Modulation is considerably less than that of non-Hispanic whites or African Americans. No chance that any significant AM signal will go Spanish.

If the Animal dies, think KFXR 1190 in Dallas. Something equally as cheap to run as the CNN audio until CC can find someone to unload 790 on.

I would think that one of the Asian language broadcasters currently on inferior signals in Houston would love to get their hands on 790. I'm not sure there are really any more viable options for CC, unless they would be content to fill the entire schedule with syndicated talk. That approach would probably stink in the ratings, but also eliminates paying local talent.

Still, I would hate to see the Sports Animal go. Charlie Pallilo is by far the best in Houston IMHO, although I know many people can't stand him. But to me 610 and 1560 are virtually unlistenable and I only listen to 97.5 when they're on the network.

If the Animal goes, I'll start listening to whichever station snatches Charlie. I'd have to think 610 is a logical choice, but would Charlie want to give up a solo show? I can't see him going to 1560 ... for one, there's far too limited an audience with their signal issues and I don't see him fitting in with that lineup.
