I personally would rate Infinity/CBS near the top of contenders for KRBE. Infinity is well under the cap in Houston with KILT 610, KIKK 650, KILT-FM 100.3 and KHJZ 95.7. They can still add four stations and Infinity would be a good company to take control of KRBE.
I wouldn't rule out anyone though. Even Cumulus is eyeing KRBE, they would love to move KIOL on to 104.1. John Walton made the comment this AM that he was getting interference on both 103.7 and 97.5 when he was driving in to the Galleria. He said it is probably those Corpus Christi stations again. The other night around 2am Bob-FM 103.5 Austin was riding over KIOL. Cumulus realizes that they will never be a real player in Houston radio with those frequencies and they have done all they can do getting a signal into Houston. Liberman would gladly sell a couple of rim shot stations to have a city signal and go head to head with Univision and KLTN or KOVE. Unless the entire Susquehanna portfolio of stations is sold to one company, which may be a possibiility, I would look for someone that already is established in Houston to buy KRBE and if it puts them over the limit of stations to sell off the least desirable signal they have. As Allisonmarie said, "the sale of KRBE could set off a chain reaction of stations changing hands". It could be real interesting when KRBE is sold or it could just be a simple transaction like Infinity adding 104 to their stations.
