Actually, as far as CHR morning shows go, I think Chio and the gang do a good job. They are creative in their contests for sure, interact with callers well, and always make sure the things they talk about are fresh. It could be a lot worse in that format!
Isn't Q102 the only mainstream CHR station in Philly (I'm relatively new to the area)? They are the only ones consistently playing top 40 pop rock now since Y100 was taken away. I don't see any advantage of flipping Q102 - with all of the rythmic stations in this city, they almost have a mainstream CHR niche.
Wired 96.5, on the other hand, is a weird station. It sounds like they're going to flip or change something for sure. If they switched to alternative rock, they'd be going against the national trend of alt rock stations drying up. But I do believe it could work around here with some effort and the right community outreach. Flipping to mainstream CHR would be a tough battle for them ... they'd have to somehow win over the loyal listeners of Q102.
