Any outages?

I was just wonder if there were any stations that suffered more than a couple of minutes (while the generator starts) loss of signal. I was young at the time but, I remember the 67 snows and IIRC the AMs stayed on.

Pretty much everything stayed on, but you heard some unusual stuff. Jocks replacing news personnel, airshift shufflings depending on who was available, etc.

Wvon was on at about 4 AM and was just running a dead carrier.

I don't think it was a tower issue though, sister WGRB which is co-located with WVON was running normal.

One thing I should add is that just hearing the signal on with no audio proved how bad Iblock sounds

1680 and 1700 had the hash all over them as usual. When actually listening to 1690 the amount of
noise from the HD exciter was so loud it's amazing you can hear any audio when it's on.

I live close enough to the site that I only get a hint of a Spanish station under it. I wouldn't even be
able to pic it out unless I knew what it was. So unlike most in the area, I get it well day and night

I sent a message to Ms. Cooper, who runs the station how bad this was, and how it ruins the stations
signal.

She leases the signal from Clear Channel, I hope I hear back from her, and I hope she can get Clear
Channel to shut off the hiss.

I wish I had been able to record it, that would have been one of the best illistrations of how bad this
truly makes radio sound.
