WPRO:Is it Paul Giammarco?

WSNE/WWBB:Anything yet?Chris Egan was named acting PD.Supposedly letting Peck go was a cost cutting move which means get someone from the outside who will do the job for less or dole the responsibilities out to someone already there. This would be unusual to have a Providence PD who also pulls an airshift.

This is public knowledge. The memo went out to both the Clear Channel Staff and the Hall Communications Staff about a week ago.

Got a friend who works at Oxford St. Rick Everett from CTK is the new B101 and WSNE guy.

However, this leads one to believe that the original statement from Clear Channel that Steve Peck was let go for "budget cuts" isn't exactly true. How much do we suppose it cost them to get Everett from Cat Country?

This will certainly be interesting? What does it mean for the stations? The talent? The music?

I don't see why there would be any changes talent-wise. Musically as long as you have the right people working for you there shouldn't be any problem. Rick had no country experience before WCTK & he has programmed classic rock so he'd be at home with B101's classic hits format. As far as Coast the music has improved & become less repetitous. Now it's a matter of a PD's personal taste when it comes to staff & how much autonomy he has in making changes when it comes to people. He should know well enough the kind of situation he's walking into.

As far as changes at Cat Country I would doubt there would be any. I don't know the music but they seem to be programmed like a CHR that plays country. Being the only country station in the market they probably play the hits with well known gold from the last 10 years or so. Will anyone at Cat Country step into the PD's shoes I wonder? I bet I know who would love to.

There damn better not be any changes at WCTK. I live with that station. I don't just listen to it. I LIVE with it except for those times I need my dose of cool classics & triple A music. The Sunday Nascar stuff can go but that's all I'll give up.

I have spoken.

And more importantly what does it mean for Rick Everett in 2 to 3 yrs which is the lifespan for a PD there. I have no doubt he'll do a good job but it's a different environment and good job or not in those 2 to 3 years he may be faced with leaving like the others even if it means staying with Clear Channel at one of their other stations. I'm not implying PDs there automatically must go after a given amount of time but it's always worked out that way while he's been at the Cat for quite a while. More money and more headaches and I doubt he'd be making the move just to get another station under his belt for future moves since he's been around a while. It's give and take.

I doubt that there will be any changes. This is not a market where a new PD comes in and brings his own people or makes sweeping changes unless he is brought in for the purpose of making those changes.Everett is not bringing anyone from Cat Country to either of those stations.

There is not much to work with at B101 personnel wise as I'm sure he can't do anything about the voicetracked midday show or touch Amy and the morning show is pretty standard and decent and needs stability.I'm surprised Tom StJohn has never been moved to days but at least having him on nights gives them someone who can fill in on daytime slots.

As far as Coast mornings would be the obvious place to make changes in personnel as the show is crowded and borders on silly.Doing anything with Joan would not be a good idea in spite of what some may think of her as she is the main draw. The other players are the problem IMHO but that's a matter of opinion. The rest of the day is as good as Coast has been in a long time.

As far as Cat Country the music is what it is and I wouldn't be surprised if the PD slot is filled from within or at least from another Hall station.
