Any Philly Stations (or surrounding areas) still using turntables?

I know WMMR does because Pierre has his vinyl cut.

I remember WOGL a few years ago allowed its jocks to bring in their 45's for a special feature (could have been a weekend thing.) Are they still in place for the Sunday night show?

How about Q102 or Power 99 (both have been around over 20 years) for shows that feature dance/hip hop mix shows?

The only other stations I can think of that could possibly still use them are:

WVLT (doo wop shows)
WDAS (Butter on Sunday nights)

or the non-comms

WXPN
WBZC (not sure because a relatively new station compared to the others)
WRDV (mostly big band and doo wop and have been around for a long time so possible)
WRTI (doubtful)
WPRB (pretty sure I've heard vinyl within the past couple of years but I don't listen often)

and of course a few AM's come to mind:

WDAS 1480 (doubtful because a brand new station but could they be using an old studio?)
WPAZ (same thing, been around forever and feature oldies programming)
WGPA Bethlehem, PA (they play a mix of old and new music)
WNWR
WBCB

I listed all the stations I can think of that might have them in place but does anyone know for sure? Are they any others?

Just off the top of my head.

WXPN does.
WPRB definitely does.
WHAT does not, unless El Zol brought one in.
Most of the Clear Channel stations do not. Except for Power 99 which does. (maybe Q and DAS-FM)
WPLY,WRNB do for the same mix DJ reason as Power.
WRTI would have one.
Most of the small older AM stations do have them around too. As do the college stations.

One note on the mix/dance type shows. Most of those guys have moved to digital turntables and hard drives in place of crates of vinyl and the wheels of steel. So they might not actually have them either.

Delaware Valley Radio WDVR-FM 89.7 in Delaware Township, NJ still has turntables in the studios, lots of LPs in the library, and DJs who bring their own record collections when they do the shows.

WRDV still has turntables in place in their studios (they have an open house each Fall after their fundraiser if you want to tour the studios).

WNPV-AM, Lansdale uses turntables on Sunday Evening for The Echoes of an Era program (Gayes model CB-100)

WNAP-AM Norristown uses a turntable for The Turntable Thursday program.

We still have them at WBZC. Only one show uses them, but they are going to be removed when you do our renovations

I would think that a dance station might keep them on hand for people who want to still mix vinyl with mp3's. Plus with the old r&b show and the album rock show, I thought they still might be used sometimes.

With the dance music everything is digital. Even our Mixshow DJ's use CD players or off the laptop. There are very few DJ's spinning vinyl. I cant tell you the last time we were serviced with vinyl. Heck most the record labels we go to a server and download wav files now. The R&B show uses CD's or the computer automation.

I'm going to go on a limb to say that WBZC/z889 does have a turntable if only for the progressive rock-themed show (Gagliarchives) on Saturday evenings.

Majority of the music on that show is done through the computer now.

I remember back in the 70s watching a news report about WFIL 560 and their on-air operations. They did, obviously, have a turntable but used it to record 45s onto NAB carts. They said they didn't play vinyl on-air because of the possibility of skipping and scratches which developed over time. They said carts don't skip and don't develop pops & clicks from scratches & dust.

So stations may still use turntables, but back when CD was still a concept how many used them and not cart machines?

In fact, I just fixed one of them earlier this month. Got stuck in 33 speed. Fine now, but a bear to disassemble.

I would highly doubt it since most Sinatra material is now digital.

One station I still do engineering work for has 3 turntables in it, WHFC 91.1 Bel Air MD. They're used mostly for the classical music shows plus an oldies show. 2 in the main studio, 1 in production. There is a person at the Keystone Record Collectors show who has been repairing turntables or restoring them, and has especially good luck with the school record players that actually sound pretty decent.
