I agree. I think that would be a VERY smart move with WVNN's numbers being as good as they are, they would definitely improve on a much better 93.3 signal. I've been predicting that for a long time now. I could also definitely see 730 The Ump moving to 92.5. I think its possible that Cumulus might pair 92.5 back with 94.1 in a simulcast, since WHRP usually pulls descent numbers, to improve coverage for Decatur and Athens, but I think that isn't very likely.
Now... what to do with WZYP. It can't continue as-is thats for sure. The music is horrible, (although I don't see that changing with Cumulus' history with this format) but the station is jockless until 2-3pm (whenever the afternoon guy starts). No morning show, no mid-day jock, and a syndicated Billy Bush show in the evenings that pretty much plays a different format than the station does the rest of the time... not really a fan of Billy Bush either. Some major improvements have GOT to happen soon, starting with a new morning show. As for WAHR Star 99.1, their numbers haven't rebounded as much as they wanted with the Hot A/C format, and I hate the new slogan "Huntsville's best variety". Blah. Huntsville is in dire need of a true CHR/Top 40 format and WAHR would be a perfect candidate to provide it given they have a some-what similar format now and a monster signal to do it with. That'd be the smartest move but companies never seem to ever do the smartest thing in radio LOL. Wishful thinking on my part I guess. I heard a rumor a while back that CC was playing with the idea of flipping 100.3 to CHR/Top 40 but I don't see that happening.
Still disappointed in the new 97.7...sports... yeah that's what we needed... another company not doing the smartest thing I guess. I think a classic country format would've worked well for that signal since 105.7 WQAH pulls good numbers despite the terrible signal quality in Huntsville. A listenable signal with that format would be successful.
