ANY PREDICTIONS FOR CLEAR CHANNEL BANGOR?

Rumor has it that current general manager, Larry Julius, is looking for investors to buy one (kiss 94.5) or all of them.
 
He's done such a great job ( ::)) with them so far.. hope he keeps them! I'm sure there will be loads of people flocking to continue to work for him given his great people skills and recent cuts both in people and sale's commissions!
 
I was told that Julias made $18,000,000 when he sold his internet company to AOL. He has a partner in Norwich, Vermont who is putting up cash to. They have hired a broker out of Boston who has been worrking with CC headquarters to fast track the purchase. They may make a bid on Augusta stations too. This could happen as early as March.

Believe it. Lightningcast is the internet company that Julias started with an investment from Nokia. Here is the announcment of the sale http://press.aol.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=987&section_id=14. He and his partner then built a hotel in Boston with Britney Spears. The hotel was call the Onyx (after Britney's last album). He sold it for another fortune last year. They are sitting on tons of cash. He and his partner could pay cash for all of CC maine and still have money left over to buy some other stuff.
 
I don't know about the internet thing, but I know for sure he and his partner built that hotel in Boston. He used to give the people he worked with at clear channel with free rooms. When he gave one to me and my wife and we went down there, they made a big deal when we checked in because we were his guest. They gave us a tour of a special Britney room that she and her mom decorated.
 
Julius was hired as Director of Sales for Maine by CC 12/1/2002. I'm sorry, some multi-millionaire isn't going to be taking that position and then overseeing Bangor for the last 3 years. Just isn't happening... Eastern and Central Maine may be a nice place.. but it isn't that nice! ;D
 
He doesn't live here. He lives on a huge estate that he built in southern maine somewhere. If he's not a millionair he sure lives like one. His best friend is Drew Carey. Plus he's always hangning out with the Govenor and Olympia Snow. We don't know why he bothers coming to work here everyday but he's usually always the first one in and the last to leave. When Cindy Michaels had her 40th birthday he set her up in all the best restrants in New York City and she got all the best tables and treatment.

By the way, what happened to Cindy after her whirlwind NYC extravaganza? Wasn't she one of two single moms who were fired in the span of a few days for some bogus contractual thing?

ANNNND... I don't believe the FCC will allow one company to own all those stations... The laws changed after CC made their buy-fest in 2000, and the FCC said in inside radio that they won't be grandfathering any ownership rules.
 
Ahhhh...ArtSix...I don't know where you got that information about Cindy Michaels being set up in all the best NY restaurants and getting all the best tables. 'Cuz that's NOT true. Cindy had made arrangements on her own at the places that she dined at. Julius found out that she was eating at The 21 Club one night and he called before she arrived to let them know he knew her. They gave her free champagne that night. That was the only restaurant that Julius did anything with and the only thing special was the bubbly! Please, don't give him anymore credit than he deserves. ::)
 
Yeah..remember this is the guy who caused Cindy to leave because of his stupid idea for non competes. Whoever buys the place should blow his butt out of there on day 1.
 
Actually yocco, the new owners should make it a condition that CC tells meddling LJ that his services are no longer needed, and not to even show up once the closing occurs! No need for the new owners to "dirty" their hands on day one!
