Any radio coverage of flood?

I was too glued to the TV to check KRLD, but one pass over WBAP and it was all regular, wall-to-wall home loan infomercials...business as usual. I hope that the EAS was doing its job, or else listeners wouldn't have had a clue anything was going on (at least until water knocked over their front doors.)

FYI...on my sunday show (KLUV) i put callers on the air. On woman called from Trophy Club and was bailing out water with her daughter. Another called from there cell phone when they were flooded on 35. She was hysterical. Good radio i think.

I think it's a good thing our pd here gives us the freedom to do this.

Lead, follow or get out of the way...

And remember, the early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

So much for the "news and talk of Texas"....I
guess if news doesn't happen at the top and bottom
of the hour (and god forbid if they should have to
do a news break in on the pompous blowhards Hannity
and Limbaugh shows), well..,it just didn't happen....
Pathetic we can't have a continuous "all news"
station here...

Bless you, Catfish. It's nice to know there are still folks
out there that GET it. That IS good radio, and serving
the community like we are SUPPOSED to do. Unfortunately,
the corporate a******* lost track of that a long time
ago.

Good job...my hat's off to you. That's what radio's all about (well, SUPPOSED to be about,) serving the community and providing a voice, be it yours or theirs or both. Sad, tho, that it's the oldies station that had to step up to the plate, when there's a supposed "all news" station on the next floor playing the Mortgage Hour and watching the rain pour outside.

Overheard during a conversation between two corporate radio execs. "We should pass on doing any flood coverage. It's so difficult to get good pictures for radio."
