This post is not intended to be a plug for a radio show, but I was encouraged to post based on its content.
I actually first found out about this program through an ad on Facebook, of all places. It's a special called "Calls From Home." The content, aside from the introduction, consists entirely of family members of loved ones currently incarcerated for the holiday season, who through pre-recorded telephone messages, give messages of encouragement and holiday wishes. The approaches from the callers range from the simple "shout-out" to a poem to even a musical performance - I heard one group of callers sing an a cappella hymn, and another play a guitar during the call.
I'm not knocking the show, or its premise. In fact, I think it's a great idea. My question is, are any stations - public radio or otherwise (the presentation sounds like it fits best on an NPR station) - scheduled to air this show this year?
