Sounds like you've been influenced by Rich Unger.... Buy 1 get 30 free.....One thing about Rich... he sure made the beach much prettier with all those T-backs he sold....

Rich Unger, I remember when that guy used to come to the Oldies 106/107.9YNF studios on City Island in Sarasota to record his own spots. High maintenance and creepy.<P ID="signature">______________

Richie Unger was one of the most colorful characters in Tampa Bay Radio. In the mid-70's, he would hang around the WLCY building on Friday afternoons "just before" the weekend logs were xerox'd from those clunky metal strip "pages". He would storm into the traffic office with a fistfull of cash, and arrange to purchase ALL of the remining spot times for 2 bucks a minute or less. After he tossed his wad of money on the sales manager's desk he and Tedd Webb would record his weekend Jeans Giant spots, and that was it.

One Friday afternoon on his way to the station he had bought several gallons of ice cream from Farm Stores (his favorite brand) and accidentally locked both the ice cream and his keys in the trunk of his brand new Mercedes 560 SEL. He borrowed a crow bar from engineering and destroyed the Benz's trunk lid to get at the ice cream before it melted.

Tony Tallman did a similer deal for the Denim Den. Both guys were great, and memorable clients.

A :60 second commercial is no longer acceptable....everyone knows Less is More. If you can't start producing :30's then you'll go the way of the cart.
