Looking at 6+ June PPM:

KJMS is holding steady though down over a share #1
WGKX is at its highest share and posistion in as long as I can remember #2
Looks like WKQK had a really solid book #7
The River loosing ground probably 25-54 to GKX AND KQK #8
WMC popped up with a strong June #9
WEGR slowly regaining some lost ground #11

And then there is the rest of the field!

How's Steve Conley's morning show doing on KQK? Anybody have a breakdown?

By 6+ Dayparts, 6-10a M-F has WXMX at #1 with a 10.5 share, KJMS #2 at an 8.0, and WGKX, WRBO, WKQK and WRVR tied at third with shares of 6.9, 7.1, 7.1 and 7.0 respectively. 10a-3p WGKX is #1 with an 8.2 share, WXMX is #2 at 7.4 tied with KJMS, WKQK and WRVR. 3-7p KJMS and WHRK at #1-#2, with shares of 9.6 and 8.4, WGKX is #3 at 7.8, followed closely by WKQK, WRBO, and WXMX.

Conley's show is respectable with a 7.1 share, 7,300 AQH...but his cume trails the other stations above him by over 30,000 weekly....must be a high turnover situation.

WDIA is suffering from power issues, and has for a number of months...evidently, one of the towers in the array is not working properly. I've heard that CCR has brought in an AM specialist to try and get things back up and running right.

By your estimates three of those stations are Citadel morning shows: Drake and Zeke, Duane and Abby and Steve Harvey. Two Entercom: Conley, Mike and Mandy Sales people must be pretty happy at those two groups!

Unfortunately. no one uses 6+ except for bragging rights. Adults 25-54, Men/Women 25-54, and Adults/Men/Women 18-49 are still the currency for most agency media buys. For Adults 25-54, it's WXMX, KJMS, WRBO,WGKX and WKQK in Morning Drive, Mid days it's WXMX, KJMS, WGKX, WRBO and WHRK, and Afternoons it's KJMS, WHRK, WGKX, WXMX and WRBO. Adults 18-49 mornings it's WXMX, KJMS, WRBO, WHRK and WKQK, Mid days WXMX, KJMS, WGKX, WRBO and WHRK, and Afternoons KJMS, WHRK, WGKX, WXMX and WRBO.

It does seem like there's a lot more Citadel and Entercom stations up there than CCR. Interesting to note that WRVR is absent from the top five in both demos, as is WMC-FM. It's also interesting that in both demos, morning and mid days have a non-urban station in the top position in a market that is essentially 50% African American.

My guess is that RVR is losing 25/54 males/females to GKX in that man/woman morning team (Mike and Mandy VS Duane and Abby): GKX is 3rd Men 25-54, RVR is 12th and in Women they are tied for 7th so easily in the Adults ranking GKX wins. One other note GKX has been rising every month while RVR is falling. Case in point May to June: RVR falls 7.5 to 5.7 W25-54 while GKX rises again from 5.1 to 5.7.

D&A sound solid. It appears that the testosterone laden Young and Elder were headed in the wrong direction from the rest of the station, and Duane and Abby have brought the female focus back on course.

As much as I was a Y&E fan in the early days I got bored with the over political rants and sports talk. And, at first I didn't get the whole Duane & Abby thing. I thought oh no not another Andy and Debbie. But the truth is they are nothing like A&D at all. In fact they are quite the opposite. Lots of good banter back and forth and letting the callers chime in on a variety of topics with a lot more music. The chemistry between D&A and Pat Adams is good. Time will tell.

I would be hard pressed to see Y&E show up anywhere in Memphis. Low ratings when they left, asking for too much money in this hard economy, Nobody wanting to deal with Brian Elder. Name your reason. Thoughts?
