ANY TRICK OR TREATING FOR THE RADIO STATIONS?

Halloween is here!!! Yeah!!! Lots of candy, goodies, scary movies on TV, I love it!!!

I know my "Rose" is doing a trick or treat for the kids on Thursday at Tanger Outlets. I think I may be too old to go, but I am tempted!!!

Have fun this Halloween!!!

Probably enough "tricks" from inside Citadel E-town over the past three months for any Halloween. Not many treats coming from there though.

Ever try this?

If you can work with the local public access TV / cable company, set up a camera on kids coming trick-or-treating to your radio station. Put the kids on the air as they drop in. Moms, Dads, and Grandparents will especially go nuts on this. The station I worked for in NW Pennsylvania did this a few times & it was great fun.

At WCOZ in Dushore, PA, Sullivan County (pop 6500) we have all the years we've been on the air (we'll celebrate our 5th anniversary this year) we've always had the kids in on Halloween for trick or treating. It's great fun....we put each kid on the air, and the parents and grandparents know to listen to the station to hear their kids on the air. It's a really neat thing to do. We always ask the kids what they are dressed as and who they'd like to say hi too....the kids who are between 3 and 7 years old always say the cutest things....I asked a girl on the air how long she thought her candy would last and she said "Oh, probably about 2 months!" I told her, do you know what happens in 2 months? Christmas! Her response was "Holy Crap!" Right on the air! It was funny and a good time was had by all. I'd suggest to any station that they have kids on the air for trick or treating. It probably isn't what a hot-shot program director would call "good radio" but believe me...it's good radio. And you don't need the cable company to do this...radio can stand all on its own. Theater of the mind always works the best anyway.
