Any tweaks resulting from new Throwback?

Now that we know 99.1 FM is now "Throwback" classic hip-hop and R&B, will other stations adjust playlists in the market?
Q? Z? Star? Kiss? WKDD? WZAK?
It will be interesting to watch.

Maybe WZAK. Most of the others play dominantly current -- or fairly recent -- releases.
Do you know if the current playlist for WZAK is based around 1990-2010 with some currents on the "Urban AC" chart? It's hard to find a playlist for WZAK, but when I do tune in it seems to be heavy in the 90's, with little to no 70's and 80's (as it was ten years back or so).

I am simply saying that WZAK appears to be the most overlapping format with their emphasis on older library stuff.

I honestly can’t see any real changes or tweaks. 99.1 will siphon off a few fractions of ratings points from WZAK (not insignificant because of WZAK’s strong ratings of late), but so much of WZAK’s lineup at this point—especially in drive time—is syndicated. What really can they do?

It wouldn’t affect much else. Probably the least affected would be WAKS and WDOK because of the lack of any demographic overlap; WKDD is solely an Akron station and doesn’t really count.

I'm glad there's another option for throwbacks, and an alternative to WZAK.

99.1 sounds good and better than I expected. iHeart appears to be going after Urban One.
