Any Undiscovered Radio Coverage Of September 11th??

I'm only aware of the stuff on the Internet Archive (Much if not all of that being mirrored in some form on YouTube where you can find otheR stations), CBS News Radio (Via WCCO), NPR (National & via KNOW 91.1) & extended airchecks of WABC & WCBS on Radio Tapes)

Is there anything else out there (Stations OE shows) that I'm not aware of??

Afterall, we are approaching the (As hard as it is to believe) the 25th Anniversary of the tragedy

I had wondered this myself.

I'm particularly interested in any recordings of KCBS or any of the other local SF stations carrying news at the time.

To be quite honest - ANY of the West Coast stations for that matter (Radio & TV)

Of course, given that the whole attack, from beginning to end, had happened before 7 AM Pacific, it's likely that not too many people were awake to record airchecks of any coverage there might have been.

I'm sure somebody somewhere had recorded some of it, perhaps incidentally, but who knows when or if any of that will be discovered?

Then there's the major news stations in California (KNX and KCBS for CBS, KGO and KABC for ABC; don't know what the others are, if any), which might've kept archives of their coverage for some reason, but again, who knows if/when any of that becomes public, assuming it exists at all.

Maybe for you. But here in the Denver area, it was approaching 8 AM & people here were not only awake but ON THEIR WAY TO WORK by then

Thee's an 8 hour aircheck of Bill Handel on KFI 640 (He's or was the morning guy there who on that day filled in for Rush Limbaugh who himself got caught in the Ground stop as his plane was grounded in one place in Florida & he was on his way to another)

I think Bill was slated to fill in for Rush regardless of what happened

Here is the aircheck of when WHSQ was then known as WCBS-AM Broadcasting 9/11/01 attacks.
Very familiar with that one

How can anyone on here not be?? they were THE FIRST ones on the air with what was thought to be a terrible plane crash at the time (Of course, we all know what happened nearly 20 Minutes later)

Too bad Audacy killed it. They should've let Good Karma have 1010 instead since it's only well known in NYC & is simulcast on full powered 92.3 anyway

speaking 9/11 archive, when i was doing 9/11 1010 wins documentary, film, or television project back in July, i ask news directer Ben Mevorach if i could have a editor send a copy the archive airchecks of 1010 wins 9 am September 12, 2001 through 9 am September 18, 2001? and then he sent me this Screenshot_53.pngScreenshot_54.png

You seem put out that they don’t work for you and they don’t work for free. I’m sure you wouldn’t just give your documentary footage to some random person who emailed you asking for it for a project they’re doing on 9/11 documentaries.

They clearly 'mind if somebody who is a editor send a copy the archives'.
With a clear example of multiple basic language mistakes in single sentence, you point out how credibility is totally lost in such instances.

I don't understand how a poorly written request would get a positive response. And I don't understand how the person making the request would expect a business to spend time and money responding to such a request.

I even wondered why WINS even spent time responding; my assumption is that they wanted to be "on the record" as refusing permission.

My favorite part of the reply was the "Lol"
