ANY UPCOMING FLIPS FOR END OF YEAR

Does anyone know if there will be any flips at the end of the year???

If the weather warms-up a tad, I may do one off the "high-dive."

1560 will flip when they run through their investors' money and patience. I am sure they are budget with a plan to get them through at least 12 months. After that, all bets are off. They are not generating new business. Still, just the same six or seven tired spots using Granato spokesmanship. 1560 should be flipped by mid summer '08

Maybe one of the other sports stations will buy it at a fire sale price and simulcast on it. There are a few sports stations around the country that have two frequencies. When games overlap, they can split the signal and put one game on each frequency.

Of course, with 1560's useless night signal, that might not work too well.

1560 will switch or make major changes by the end of January '08. Those 6 - 8 sponsors may not have re-newed for 2008. Most stations in Houston are dead with commercials in January. THE GAME IS OVER!

I agree the GAME is over. It is just a matter of when they blow it up. We should start a pool and see who can guess the week in '08.

First off, 1560 is locked in for the long haul. They're not flipping or selling anytime in the next 12 months. Their advertiser base is growing slightly. I've heard a few new spots over the last few weeks, but I agree it's very weak with only 1 solid program and no local major sports teams on its roster. Let me remind you of the BizRadio model: take enough investor money to run the station commercial free for 3 years then let the chips fall where they may. They have done that very well. The investors are screwed, but they have (had) 3 year staying power. David Gow is a lot smarter than BizRadio's Dan Frishberg from what I know and if Frishberg can con investors out of enough cash to stay on the air this long I'm sure Gow can do a much better job, maybe even find a way for the investors to not lose much or lose at all.

Luckros there is your answer the flips are aready happening.
