Any update on Lisa Thomas-Laury?

Has anyone heard any news about Lisa's return to Ch.6? They did a piece on her in the past year, but I haven't heard anything since then.

Maybe Michael Klein saw my post...

He mentioned in his column today (11/21) that Lisa will once again be a part of the Thanksgiving Parade coverage. He said there's still no return date on when she'll get back in the anchor chair.

It was annouced on Wedsday night that she will be return to the news in a few weeks. She was on when Dan Cuellar was doing his report about the Thanksgiving day Parde.

To give a more exact date, later in the newboradcast, when it was going to sport, Jim brought the subject up, and Gary Papa said something along the line of "it will be great to have her back in 3 weeks". I forget the exact quote, but he did say 3 weeks.

So obviously time to ponder, who will get demoted because of Lisa's return? All signs, in my mind, point to Sarah Bloomquist being axed from the noon news. That said, I'm sort of holding out hope that Lisa gets paired with Jim Gardner, though with her condition, I don't know if Lisa can handle going full force into those kind of hours.

Here's my prediction: She is paired with Jim Gardner at 6 pm only. For the time being, that is the only newscast she does on a regular basis.
My reasoning: Reports have said she has to "ramp back up" to anchoring. I think doing a schedule that would include the 6 and 11 pm casts would be unadvised for someone coming back to work from a long (three years) medical leave. She can always join the 11 pm cast at a later time if all goes well.
LTL is too big of a draw to have her on anything but the evening newscasts. Possible exception: is she does one early evening newscast AND noon.
I think she has stated previously that she it not a morning person: you won't be seeing her 5-7am.
And, a previous post had Gary Papa saying it will be good to have her back, suggesting that she will be on a newscast that he is on.
One other possibility - a bit different, but when you're making room for a big name to come back and you have a full slate of anchors, an outside the box approach may be called for.
LTL anchors 5-6pm. In one half hour, her co-anchor is Rick Williams. In another half hour, her co-anchor is Monica Malpass. Sarah Bloomquist gets bumped from the noon newscast and Monica returns to co-anchor noon with Rick as they did previously. A win-win-win??? LTL goes back to the newscast she is best known for (5pm). Rick and Monica each still get to anchor one hour of news per day, including part of the 5 pm newscast. And they get to remain a team on one newscast per day (noon). Sarah Bloomquist assumes the previous Michele McCormack roll of being the primary substitute anchor for mornings and weekends.

Doesn't Jim Gardner have a "no co-anchor" clause in his contract?

And is it possible that Lisa will do some special features and stuff instead of anchoring? That way, she wouldn't have to be on every day if she's still battling health problems.

I think her absense has made people think she was a better anchor than she is.
