any updates on the 101.5 / 101.7 signal?

I remember reading that the FCC was supposed to make a decision sometime last week if radio one was going to be able to change the signal or not but i haven't heard anything. i tried looking at the FCC website but all that stuff might as well be written in japaneses...

Nowhere close. There's a 60 day comment period before anything happens, and that period has not expired yet. Even then it usually takes the FCC 2-3 months to process the average "minor change" application, regardless of the new rules regarding city of license changes.

Their application has drawn quite a bit of attention. It looks like > 60 "informal objections" have been lodged at this point.

How many formal objections to the freqency change does it take to stop an application like this from going through with the FCC? Where can people complain about it at?

It is all going to depend where the complaints are coming from, I would asume most of them are coming from the Centerville High School Area and from some LPFM. Either will hold much wieght with the FCC considering the size of the media owner wanting the change.

The LPFM is WSWO in Huber Heights, the former WOXR at 97.7. with an oldies format but is a non-commercial public station. They are operating a translator also in Huber Heights at 101.5...the translator actually gets out better than the regular signal since it reaches up to Troy and southwards in Moraine and downtown Dayton. 97.7 barely gets in to Troy and West Milton, but covers Tipp City and New Carlisle. They're building a studio at a shopping center on Brandt Pike while the oldies and genercized PAMS jingles are automated. Thay also air Big Band on Saturdays.
