Anybody else notice this...?

Thursday night of last week (11/3), when ABC/WFAA ran "Pirates Of The Caribbean," there were a couple of late local avails that stomped all over the movie. One in particular ran during the regular break (at the top of the hour) and then ran again not more than two minutes later. Are Channel 8's master control ops getting as bad as their news TDs? Or is it a case of a computer hiccup in their spot server? In either event, I wouldn't think such shoddy work would be permitted, let alone tolerated, in a major network affiliate in the nation's number 7 market. And maybe it's a sign of how much their numbers have dropped off, but I haven't seen anyone else mention it (maybe no one was watching?).

Any WFAA employees out there that would care to let the rest of us know what's going on in that shop?<P ID="signature">______________

Good catch, but I seriously doubt a very large audience was watching. The reason. most have seen the movie on dvd, cable,or already own it. That is the lament of Networks showing movies with countless commercial interuptions and the movie itself being cut to accomodate them.

Which is why the network movie is almost a thing of the past,
save for CBS's Sunday (usually made-for-TV movies anyway) and
ABC's seem-to-be-filler things.

I think CBS has resorted to the "Hallmark Hall Of Fame" film lineup in an attempt to save money

I don't know if all the CBS movies are "Hallmark"s but it seems
a lot of them are.
