ANYBODY ELSE WHO DOESN'T WATCH CBS

Is CBS still the #1 network?
I just realized I don't watch a single show on CBS. No childish sitcoms. No reality or drama junk.

I do watch ABC and FOX some and NBC a bit. Here I am always bashing the CW and MY NETWORK TV, looks like I need to add CBS to the bunch. I watch more TV Land, GSN, TBS, HGTV and WGN than sorry ole CBS.

Ignoring the obvious troll post.....CBS is still #1 in my house. Excepting sports ABC gets 2 shows, NBC 1 and CBS the rest. No Fox, CW, MyTV and no cable crap.

Of the 8 network shows I watch, 4 are on CBS (HIMYM, Hawaii Five-O, Big Bang Theory, and CSI), one is on NBC (L&O:LA, two if you count Sunday Night Football), one is on Fox (Family Guy) and two are on the CW (One Tree Hill, the Vampire Diaries). I don't watch a single show on ABC.

All the network shows pale in comparision, though, to the amount of programming I watch on HBO, Showtime, FX, USA, MTV and Bravo.

I guess thats the problem. I'm younger than 30 and my vast majority of viewing is done away from the networks. I watch a total of 6.5 hours of network primetime a week. I don't watch any broadcast shows in the summer, and I probably watch at least twice as much programming on cable or pay TV.

...as long as CBS keeps Craig Ferguson on the schedule, I'll still watch ;-) ...

I like Ferguson too, but I don't stay up that late, and I've stopped recording late night talk shows. I just end up with a lot of DVR clutter that I never get around to watching.

I like 2 shows on CBS - The Good Wife is a top notch dramatic show, in my opinion, and I've been a 60 Minutes junkie for decades. That's about it. I find all their Jerry Bruckheimer produced police procedurals ridiculous, and the imitators (NCIS, etc) only marginally better.

But it's about the same for me with the other 3 networks - about 2 shows each, and if I miss them, I don't cry.

Most of my viewing time is spent with the excellent basic cable dramas (Mad Men, Rubicon, Breaking Bad, etc). The new show Terriers on FX is catching my attention.

HBO does not have as many high quality dramas as they used to, but I'm getting into Boardwalk Empire with Steve Buscemi, and watching Rome (from a few years ago) On-Demand. Showtime has a few good shows too, but to save money on my cable bill, I rent them from NetFlix.

Other than that, I'm trying to watch less TV...

I'm 55 - way to young to watch CBS. By the time I get old enough to fit into their core demographic, CBS (as well as NBC, ABC, Fox, and CW) may be history as an OTA network. ;D

Other than sports and local news, what little TV watching I do is online. I don't have cable where I live (my apartment complex contracts with Ygnition Networks, an ISP who is also a Dish Network reseller), and I don't want DirecTV or Dish.

You don't have to be a young'un to know that the future is not broadcast television - except for maybe two or three local channels per market that would air mostly syndicated programming, news, and reruns. Even the cable/satellite services' customer numbers will probably shrink due to high costs. It won't be tomorrow, next week, or next year, but my bet is that it'll happen in my lifetime.

Until curiosity got the better of me over that Hawaii Five-0 remake, I had not watched them in many months.
At one time I was watching The Amazing Race on a regular basis, but by now it's all "been there done that".

True true.....one staged Amazing Race is just as good as the next one.

Maybe the networks need to become cable only. That sure would free up a lot of local channels and really put the V in variety.

I think there was a place for network TV (perhaps till 1990), but today, who really watches that much of it anymore?

I'm 61,

My wife and I watch History, History International, Biography, The Westerns Channel, Turner Movie Classics, and American Movie Classics and EWTN.

We also watch about a half hour of local news daily on the Tribune owned Fox affiliate. We used to watch wgn - but they cancelled
Becker, so no more. We get most of our news from the internet.

My 81 year old mom watches LOTS of cbs daytime (the affiliate is 50 miles away) then complains that their weather is not accurate, and tells me how unsafe it is to live THERE, rather than our town.

Of course I forgot....being in Steelers Country, CBS is the network that carries my football most weekends.
Does not really dawn on me though that I'm watching CBS. I guess because all of the easily identifiable,
iconic CBS announcers (Pat Summerall, Tom Brookshier, Lindsay Nelson) are all gone.

Of the five major broadcast networks, I only watch CBS and Fox.

Other than The Simpsons, and Family Guy I do not watch episodic television on the big 4 networks. My better half had dvr'd some of the new stuff and I watched about ten minutes each of a couple of shows and realized why I don't watch that fecal dribble. My TV time, what there is of it is PBS, History, Discovery, Travel, Food, HI and some RFD.

I'll watch Fox's Animation Domination on Sunday along with Bones and Fringe
I'll Watch Two & 1/2 Men, Sh*t My Dad Says, & The Big Bang Theory on CBS.

I dont Watch NBC, nothing there I like. Cept maybe a Football game here and there.

Sometimes I'll watch ABC's Comedy Wednesday.

as for the CW I'll watch the Simpsons repeats.

I watch The Middle on ABC and Friday Night Lights on NBC and nothing else but All in the Family reruns. I tried Big Bang Theory again tonight and didn't laugh once, and lasted through half of the Shatner show.

About 75% CBS here (60 min, Amazing Race, CSI Miami, 2 and a Half Men, Big Bang, Survivor, Early Show, Evening News, CBS Sunday Morning. 20% ABC, nothing NBC
