anybody know what time klsd is changing?

August ... wait, Oct. 1. No, Oct. 15. Opps, Nov. 1. Naw, Nov. 5. This is the longest format change -- wait there is no official announcement outside of the Clear Channel job boards! If they can get the year down, it'll be one of the 365 days in a regular year. They should wait until Feb. 29, 2008

Looks like someone is not very confident on the format change. Something is definitely going on behind the scenes.

Steve Posner, in Friday's Union Trib said it will be November 15th

That's Jay Posner.

There's a big pow-wow tomorrow at Granite Ridge; Brian Wilson will have Peace Pipes and they'll be smoked. The new line up will be firmed out and Xtra Sports (projected name) will be ready to launch.

Monday, Nov. 5 is the slated (and hopefully) final launch day. Of course the time change was probably not factored in and the entire broadcast day will be an hour off.

I also heard Nov. 15, but who really knows? As much as I will regret losing my only reason for listening to radio, sports seems like it would work real well. CC has the Chargers, that would be a natural. KIOZ might benefit from doing only rock, and their hard core format can't be all that attractive to middle class Charger fans. Of course the Chargers might be moving; who could blame them. Its a miracle they haven't gone back to LA already. If there is a God AAR will get picked up by another station in the market, its small but loyal audience. It is often said that CC failed with XETRA Sports, I don't know what the ratings were for it toward the end but in the Noble days it certainly seemed successful.

I actually like the sports format but this abortion on 1360 really reeks. It will probably be a huge success. Lower the community's average IQ a few points.

I guess they flipped the switch early. It was bizarre listening to them this afternoon with a really buzzy satellite signal and a guy getting overly excited about a Bengals game speaking in third person.

This sounds like a winner......or a wiener.....

I guess you have to give them a chance. But so far, I'm not impressed. I'm a sports fan, but do I really need scores from HPU, Cal State Poly, and Hancock Jr College?
