Anybody listen to Channel 5?

I'm about to get Sirius as part of my Dish Network TV package. I have XM now and really like their '50s channel. The special programming (doo wop, rockabilly, early r&b, etc) is excellent. I'm just wondering if there is any of this on Sirius.

>> Sirius Gold 5 is one of the better programmed channels on Sirius. They offer some great specialized programming including Mr Music , Norm N Nite live from the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Wed - Sunday afternoons, Girl Power- first ladies of rock M-F 4pm eastern, Rockabilly features M-F 10am, & the Doo Wop Drive in with Bob Thomas Sundays 9pm -12 am. Sirius Gold digs deeper than its counterpart on channel 6. Sirius Gold covers the first decade of rock 1954-64, not just the 50s. PD, Bob Thomas does a good job of including the big hits along with others that do not get airplay much anymore. Those oh wow, and lesser hits still pop up in the programming. The jocks are great- well informed and entertaining. I find Sirius Gold to be one of the brightest spots on Sirius!!
Edited by AZJoe on 09/21/05 05:18 AM.

Sounding good, also, on Sirius 6, 7, 8 and 14. Can't figure out, though, why they insisted putting the kids' music channel right in the middle of classic vinyl and other music streams that in no way have to do with lollipop music.

Even better. It's such a waste. Or as my friend calls it, The Urchin Channel.
