Anybody listening to WABC Rewound?

Old airchecks or not, "restored" audio from mono to better quality CDs or not, spot sets way-too-long or not, Johnny Donovan has, again, done a masterful job (with help) on the latest WABC Rewound today. I thought ABC News' Bob Schmidt would drown in that reverb filled barrel...

Big Dan Ingram was a huge legend then ... and I bet would be as big today. Brucie is, well, Brucie and King George Michael sounded great, as did Charlie Grier, Chuck Leonard ... everyone.

Just great stuff.

Hopefully, "today's" radio "execs" would do well to listen ... and learn how great radio was from 77 - W A Beatle C!

I listened all day online, (I'm in Atlanta) and it was great to hear Music Radio WABC. I grew up listening to WABC on the coast of N.C. at night when the signal would boom in. Thanks to everyone at WABC for bringing back some great memories.

I had to work, but I did listen about 2 hours in the AM and the last 2 hours. It is always great to hear the voices I listened to in the 60s and 70s.
I did used to put on WABC on the radio in the fall and winter months at my deli in Palm Bay fl. in the early 80s. they would come in crystal clear from about 4:30 till 7pm or so. People would freak out hearing Dan Ingram and also the traffic and weather.

Man talk about an empty void to be filled for this market 8)I heard it all day on my radio here in pa.I taped most of it. ;D

;)

Don't forget to thank the person who puts together the Rewound series from his private aircheck collection. None other than Peter Kanze.

Peter is a noted radio historian, author, radio memorabilia collector and a great guy who make the rewound series possible. Obviously, others are due many thanks as well, but this is Peter's baby.

On that note, the word on the street is that the station itself is rather hum drum about the whole Rewound program. If you truly enjoyed the show, you may want to help secure it for 2008 by emailing the programming department at WABC and let them know.
