Yes, and where were you in Miami? My friends and I saw Johnny (Quack-quack) walking around a strip mall in Kendall (107th Avenue & Kendall Drive) about 1973. Don't know how we recognized him, but we tried to "chase" him down or talk to him; I just remember he shyly pretended not to notice us. Kind of like, "I'm off-duty, and you really don't want to meet me." That era in Miami (heck - ALL) radio was so magical to me.
Caught a bus to Sunset and the US1 - walked over to the WFUN studios, got to see somebody on-air behind the showcase glass wall, and that was IT. Some of our favorites were Jefferson Stone, Don Wright, Bill Tanner, Lee Logan, Rick Shaw, DOZENS more. Real stars - especially the night jock if you were in school, 'cause who had time to hear what the AM drive guys were saying?
I'll now crawl back under my rock...
