I know there are lots of folks out there who hate what radio has become in America. Corporations, hundreds of stations with the same owners, bland programming, voice-tracking, liner cards, nobody willing to take any risks, WAY too much automation, satellite, etc etc.
As a kid, I listened to AM radio with real (LIVE) disk jockys, a lot of whom were funny and very entertaining without crude and rude comments and blue language. Most owners were local and in the station every day and programming was geared to the local community. There was a sense of family at the station and everyone from the overnight weekend jock to the General Manager were working together to have the best darn station they could. There's just not that kind of fun, family radio around much anymore and I for one, miss it. Let me say here that I have been making a living in radio since I was 15 years old and still believe fun radio can happen, if the stations (and owners) really want to do it. I know the listeners would love it.
If you remember the "good ol' days" of Top 40 radio and would like to be a part of a new station with old fashioned family values and WANT TO HAVE FUN AGAIN, please drop me a line and tell me you want to work for a station like that again or for the first time. I have the station. Do you want to be a part of a radio station FAMILY? I believe a together we could build a new station that everyone would be proud of. Dreams can come true, you know.
